I’m grateful for you warriors sharing vulnerabilities and experiences. This reveals some of the dark effects of the new league format. Btw, seeing Kelly C. be there for Savvy in Hermosa totally improved my perspective of her as a player and person. We viewers have such a skewed vantage point. 🙌 to you fabulous Sandcast players. Keep your chin up and self-care flowing.
100% agree with this. I watched the Hermosa Open and after seeing Kelly and Sarah in the box with Savvy after that match actually made me cry. I gained a lot of respect for them as a team and as people, to see the genuine emotion and care they gave was just incredible. It's so easy not to like athletes because of their demeanor on the court, but at the end of the day they are all human and to see Kelly and Sarah in that light and to hear Savvy opening up about mental health, this is huge for everyone, including the younger athletes coming up. I would love to hear more on this, I know Tri mentioned his struggles of losing identity after big losses, this would just be a great "behind the scenes" type view. Such fierce competitors but to hear about their every day struggles, I sure hope this helps people. Even if you reach just one person, you are helping. Kudos, Sandcast!
I miss being able to see all of the other players that are normally on the tour. It also means some of the other teams that surprise in tournament are not seen, especially the up and comers, like Friend and Brewster. How are these players playing and training now?
Very very interesting topic to be explored more for sure. re: Savvy’s personal share - hopefully she sharing helps on her journey to balance or manage the attachment an athlete has to winning vs losing. Being thrown into the lions den of this situation where the leading pro organization is just making qualifying rules up on the fly certainly doesn’t help and I empathize, fur sure, on how intense and nerve racking that must have been for the teams. They definitely were thrown into a pressure cooking match with a lot on the line. I was wondering about the true story behind the forfeit at hermosa open too. Thanks for sharing everyone!
Alan Watts philosophically explores anxiety in this lecture. There’s numerous lectures of his on YT on a variety of topics - I’ll check out his perspective on different topics on my journey of self discovery etc - he brings interesting gems to the table to chew on (here’s a sample): ruclips.net/video/Ud7HVn2_k2Y/видео.htmlsi=HAuO9DSOSxXMON4m
What did happen to Evan and Alison? How can someone see the final team standings for league selection? I thought they were doing really well. Are there other domestic tournaments for non-leaguers?
its ok savvy. you'll get your rematch again.. not enough people talk about the 'no sleep' and after effects of sports especially in beach volleyball. those 2 are now old farts and wont be there long anyway
Cool to see this level of realness from high level athletes, you are a killer Simo be well
100%

Love that Kelly is getting viewed in a better light!

Agreed. Most are just not playing unfortunately

Love when Sav opens up on stuff like this

They lost the "tiebreak" to Phil and Avery because Phil and Avery had a better finish in Chicago
That tie break thing was so bad.
They definitely shoulda announce it before the last tournament
@@SANDCASTPodcast ah thats why alison wasnt very social in the avp league when they found him in the stands
I was rooting for team UCLA to get into the league
A lot of people were haha
❤❤❤

haha idk about April and Alix being "old farts" but Sav will for sure get her chance
Tough luck. Do better on click bait titles - just poor word choice.
What was misleading about the title when that's exactly what we talked about?
