I have a 2015 Forester 2.5i Premium that I just love! And the all wheel drive makes getting around Colorado a snap, either summer or winter! Can’t go wrong with a Subaru!

The outside look old, the interior is nice but I feel like the orange vent trims and around shifter is a strange choice. The the functionality of this Forester is 🤩 Amazing. Thanks for sharing that one!
I LOVE my Forester Touring. It’s Sephia Bronze with Saddle Brown leather interior. I get a lot of complements on the color combination. Everyone likes the Brown interior. Who wants to drive a silver, grey, black or other dark colored vehicles with gloomy grey or boring black interiors, especially when the skies are dark and depressing? Oh yea, a depressed person who’s glass is always 1/2 empty.
Yeah I agree the non-changeable red trim inside and outside drives me nuts. They should have the option to change that color. That is a huge dealbreaker for me on the sport.
Hi Juliana. I'm glad to see you again. Subaru, a prestigious brand that excels in all chapters. Personal opinion! Symmetrical AWD but also the Boxer engine offers the model good performance on the road but especially in rough terrain. good visibility but also good ergonomics. Thank you for your beautiful presentations. Greetings from Brasov, my hometown.👍
Really like my Subaru's. My 2020 Forester is a real joy to driver regardless of crowded cities or out on the open road. Hoping for a Wilderness Forester model. However the cubby space in front of the shifter is ridiculously small.
I have this car in black, and love the way it looks with the red orange flares. I thought the CVT transmission would bother me more, but it actually cruises nicely at decent speeds on the highway at low revs (1200-2000rpm), gaining some decent mileage for an AWD. Worth the minor acceleration trade-off imo.
You are correct...but....on the other hand, CVT is less expensive to make, making Forrester more affordable...so...more people will buy it...and I think this strategy works for Subaru, so they are not going to abandon CVT's...
We’re on our second Subaru (first a 2021 outback and now a 2022 ascent), both with cvt’s.. I will say they’ve both been my wife’s cars but I enjoy driving them and I would describe myself as a car guy. The CVT isn’t the REASON I enjoy them but it doesn’t bother me! Currently very close to selling my current Nissan Titan and buying a 2022 forester sport. I wouldn’t let it keep you from the purchase.
Hi ! Unlikely the RAV4 Prime will come to NZ anytime soon. So I am becoming very partial to the Subaru SUV range. The sports with the red trim looks cool. Regards. Auckland. NZ
If you're considering buying 2nd hand Forester from Japan, note that the Sport trim is actually called the X-Break in Japan. They've been making them since 2018. Also, the 2021 Sport trim (Japan) now has a 1.8L turbo engine in it. The same as the new Levorg. From a fellow kiwi living in Tokyo 😎
@@BFJP Good evening NZ time my ole mate. Thanks for the wealth of info you provided. Much appreciated. When you finally come back to NZ, are you going to bring back a cool vehicle with you. @@johnmartin7158 not sure I'd put money on the Olympics going ahead. We're in a state of emergency in Tokyo till end of May... Who knows when we'll be allowed to return for a visit home. I'd seriously consider getting 2nd hand from Japan if you're considering buying. They take excellent care of their cars and barely use em! Got my 2018 forester in January w only 9400kms on the clock for about nzd36k. Also, steer clear of the new Subaru e-boxer (hybrids). Test drove a new 2021, and they're rubbish imho. Stick with petrol, or save and wait for that RAV4 Prime (PHV in Japan) which looks amazing if you can get your hands on one.
im currently looking at this Subaru sport but the cloth seats ... scare me because I have kids ... What would you say the durability is compared to leather seats with the Limited Forester ??
Hey Melissa! Thank you for watching, and for asking such a great question. So as a Bonus Mom to two active, and very messy boys, who I think prefer to use any surface BUT a napkin to whip their mouths (lol), I would recommend leather seats, or the "all weather" seat material found in the Crosstrek i reviewed. I prefer the Sport model in the Forester, because of the looks, but in reality I'd purchase what makes sense for the kids and for keeping it cleaner for longer. I hope this helps. Thanks again for watching. Stay well. Juliana
Did you run the car enough to be able to check the gas milage?Mine is doing poorly 22.5 and I have 16xx miles on it.Ran the vehicle according to the manufactures break in period did't do any steady driving eg,on the highway until the 1000 miles as suggested by the manufacturer and then only achieved 25.5 with some city very disappointed with the EPA rating of 26-33.Anybody out there running the same scenario would appreciate any input otherwise I really like the car.
@@melberm2662 I started playing with the S mode fun city,my Forester has some get up and go.I also have a 2003 subaru outback limited with a 2.5 that's a real dog the difference in HP is unreal I drive the outback like an old man no other way but it's dependable and I'll drive it as long as I can.I would have been disappointed if it didn't have all that power and still bad gas milage with the Forester or maybe all of their 2.5 L are not as peppy.
You said (paraphrased): "This is their(Subaru) 20th year of making the 'Forester'..." I believe it's the 23rd year. My complete personal collection of "Consumer Reports Magazine" in 1998 had the "Forester" in its first year. I have a 2004 "Forester X" model I bought outright with a trade in (1996 Nissian "Maxima") in September of 2003. This is a good review. I've been seriously looking into a replacement car. The '04 "Forester" has been real good for me. The " Subie" seems to me the way to go compared to two other serious contenders: Toyota " Highlander" and Hyundai 2021 "Santa Fe". ( The "Santa Fe" has more leg room. I'm 6' 1" tall at 190 lbs. Also, I'm not sure about the Hyundai engines, though Subaru had an issue or two with theirs which is now fixed. I was a victim of one of those problems - the leakey valve head covers...twice. )
I would rather have more space in the back hatch area than all the leg space, definitely lost space moving from the crv, but I love this car, seats are way more comfortable than the crv.

Poor choice of colors, especially on the sport model. The interior seats are great and should be an option on the premium, the orange is off-putting, why not a blue ?.
