Since the root system of that cane is still viable, burying it deeper will stimulate root growth further up the cane, in essence propagating it in situ. Good luck! Anne

That Jaboa is my dream plant! I have a large Jaboa, but not that big, wow! Jaboas will definitely grow many of it's leaves that will naturally flop over just like other types of Sansavierias including the Sayuri, the Lauren, the Yellowstone, etc. But my goodness, I would love to find a Jaboa (or any other type of Sansevieria) that is that big. Just beautiful! He looks like he could be named, "Big Ben", lol.

For your Dieffenbachia: I would use wet Spaghnum Moss around the damaged stem, to produce roots. Then after some weeks, when enough roots growed, I would cut it and plant it imediately beside the other stems. And if you have luck new growth maybe come out of the old stem. So your plant get fuller in the lower area of the plant too. :)

  • @JACKIELVSGOD

I BOUGHT THE JABOA AS A CUTTING MAYBE A MONTH AGO AND I PLANTED IT IN AN 8" POT. IT HAS NOW OUT-GROWN THE 8" POT AND IT NEEDS REPOTTING VERY SOON. I HAVE NOTICED IT IS A VERY FAST GROWING SANSEVIERIA. I NORMALLY DO NOT BUY CUTTINGS, BUT I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY. I AM SO HAPPY I BOUGHT THE JOBOA.
REGARDING YOUR MASIVE JOBOA, I WOULD CALL HER "JADE".
    THE MEANING:
JADE IS A PRECIOUS STONE; A BEAUTIFUL GREEN MINERAL THAT'S REFERRED TO AS THE STONE OF LUCK AND HAPPINESS.
I THINK THE NAME "JADE" AND ITS MEANING FIT YOU AND YOUR NEW JOBOA QUITE WELL.

I’d name the snake plant Goliath. No explanation needed. Lol. The leaves on my snake plants also bend. If they stay bent long enough they will eventually leave a crease, turn brown and tear or break off. I wrap some jute twine around mine to hold them up. It doesn’t look bad and I have kept it from getting damaged. I clean my leaves with milk or mayonnaise. The leaves gets super shiny. Have a great evening!

Oh, you're right! I initially thought, leave the cane alone, since it's growing so well. But, yes, the weight of the plant would probably crush the thin section below or cause it to snap. You may need to bite the bullet and cut it off at the base and then take several propagations along the stem. Such a shame but isn't the whole situation fascinating 🤗
PS just had another look at that section of the video. I reckon, if you're thinking of burying the canes deeper to try to save the snapped one, why not just add more soil into the existing pot. It looks as though there's plenty of room there for additional soil 😊

Good luck with your Dieffenbachia. I would personally just leave it and top up the soil to cover the narrow part and see how it goes, seems a shame to cut it. What a find though 💚💚

Hi! My first time on here 😊 I’m a snake plant lover too! I FINALLY ordered a jaboa off Etsy and I’m so excited! I have three huge snake plants that were my grandmothers but I’m not even sure what kind they are lol they have some leaves that look like the laurentii (sp?) and others that are just green like the regular green one which I can’t remember the name atm smh. Anyway…yours is gorgeous!! I’m curious of price? As far as a name the first thing I thought of was Jabba the plant after Jabba the hut off Star Wars lol.
As far as the diffenbachia, I’d either repot deeper (there’s lots of nodes on the stem) or cut the middle one to propagate then take the other two and break apart. Place them back to back to make the leaves be more evenly distributed around the plant. Once the propagation is ready, pot back with the others or in a totally different pot. Either way, turn the plant so the the leaves will grow back towards the sun so no more falling over hopefully and the IG pic will be pretty from either side. 😊💚🪴

So sorry about your gigantium crashing. I know it does not matter now but you should’ve tied all the leaves to the Main stem right away for at least a month. This might have preventing a complete folding of the petioles.
For your diffenbachia I think there is no need to cut the damaged stem, you should air layer it. once you have roots cut it and pot it up with the others this way you will get to keep those healthy leaves and maybe the remaining stem will grow another plant.

  • @bostonbound2323

I have a large dieffenbachia, almost 5 feet tall. It had a rough time after moving to a new apt and it got squished and hurt in the truck. A couple of branches were not looking so well so I made the decision to cut it and propagate it. It cut deep to see my beautiful large plant get smaller but the cuttings are now growing happily in the same pot as the original plant.

With the Dieffenbachia, I would keep adding potting mix to the current container, so I could watch for problems, then once I knew it was rooting elsewhere on the broken stem, I would repot.
With the stem being so thin, I know I would completely snap it trying to repot in its current state (I'm clumsy af 😂).

We have a long leggy small leaf schedulers at my work. It has been half dead for years. This year we started watering as regularly as we can, moved it to a sunnier location, and gave it some fertilizer. It got a couple new leaves, but still looked sad. It is around four feet tall, but the stems are longer, twisted, and tied in a s shape to a piece of rebar. My coworker and I decided to cut it back to encourage bushing, about a foot on each of the two stems. I stuck them in a vase and they are sprouting roots! I plan on putting them into the pot with the old ones. Any other ideas on how to make this plant look better?

I hope you read this and do your own research on adding silica to the water,(if you haven't already) It is essential for big plants and will give you much thicker and stronger stems. Just leave the dumb came until you build it up with silica. If you cut it up or bury it it will die or rot. It will be fine. Silica will rebuild the cell walls of all your plants. Do not mix it with anything else except for ph down if needed because it can raise the ph. After the stems thicken I would repot. U can add a layer of worm castings and soil for nutrients.

My vote is to repot it in a gigantic planter and bury it further and maybe add a stake to help hold it up! It looks amazing as is!

I believe when you repot it to pant that section lower.

That Jaboa is beautiful!!! I would name him big poppa. I wouldn’t cut your diffenbachia unless it started to decline it just looks to dang pretty by your couch.

My vote is “Jaboa the Hut” but that’s coming from a Star Wars fan. It’s gorgeous!

That's an absolutely incredible snake plant! I really want a huge one, but I haven't found the One yet. I wish whale fins weren't so expensive, a huge one (even just one fin) would look so hecking good.

There’s a giant 14” jaboa at my work that’s been around for a really long time, I feel like the size intimidates customers lol. I definitely can’t lift that one either! Also for the tropic snow I would definitely go with your third idea where you repot it deeper in a new pot! Maybe add a stake up against that branch aswell? I feel like that solution both helps the plant a lot and still keeps the visual aesthetic intact!

I would probably just fill up the pot with soil to top it off. Then if it continues to do well I might try some air layering on that one cane.

Beautiful plants ! I am jealous at how green and lucious everything is. You can prevent all this leaning and falling off shelves by just kinda shifting/turning the pots in circles.

Yes, you should start rotating your dieffenbachia. You can still turn it or not when doing videos. I think your viewers aka plants lovers will totally understand if you have a plant in the background that is not picture perfect 🙂
