    Music and the busking life is crazy! I'm the same as you, i'll play with something until it no longer works. Well, today was that day. I asked some people to watch my stuff as i thought it was just the batteries that were dead. After the new batteries weren't working, the led light was blinking and the amp kept cutting out mid song I knew today was the day my amp died! i've had it for 8 years but I only started using it busking full time a few months ago. I found the whole situation hilarious, people listening took pity on me, I played an improvised farewell song to my amp as it was cutting out and then as I packed up a guy gave me €50 towards a new amp!! So grateful, I'm a big fan of your channel. What are the chances the day my amp dies, this video comes out? :')

    I went for EV Evolve 30M for my accordion. Still trying to find the best adjustments to make sound even better, but so far I have heard only good things from audience. Sounds really good. I Can do places where normally I wouldnt play. Like noisy crowded streets. Gives more options. Downside is that setup is quite heavy also needs external batterry which makes it even heavier. I Can use only when travelling by car. Not weather proof.

      @@AugustRadioProject Very welcome! I thought about buying the AER amp since over 10 years again and again.
      Then I wanted to buy it 1 year ago, but was so unhappy about the fact, that it has just 2 channels (1 of that as mic) and all effects are for both together. Then I thought about buying the bigger one without a battery + an external with solar panels (just this would be another 4-figure sum).
      So now ... I ordered the Mackie and am so excited to use it!
      You saved us literally 2.000 bucks (minimum) and gave me such a big excitement to make music on the streets and everywhere else with an amp!
      So thank YOU for that!
      You really inspired.
      I busked over 3000 days, over 90% without an amp, so I'm really excited!
      10% of 3000 is still a lot of days with amp, but it's a new adventure, especially because it's such a new feeling now, while we focus on making us known through the music and getting the money as a byproduct of the worth that we create - instead of the money in the head. I'm sure you know what I mean.
      It would be really interesting to connect. Maybe we can share some knowledge.

Maybe you can set up a trial run for the patreon members. Just tell us when and we'll be there. We can give you real time feedback on how it working. Btw to anyone reading this. If you are able to support through patreon you won't be disappointed with what you are getting. I just use a Kingsman 40w little thing atm it cost me £65 on ebay 2nd hand - it got me going though to be fair and it's plenty loud enough. It has everything I need inc a 3.5mm input plus XLR mic and gain and the sound quality is certainly good enough. my guitar goes though an Behringer acoustic driver/ compressor to reduce that 'quacky' acoustic tone and my vocals go through a TC Helicon MIc Mechanic which is amazing. But the amp still plenty okay enough without the stomp pedals as when their batteries are flat!

    People wondering what to buy Try to vocal star pa system. I love it
    Iv'e had it a few years now and its better than the street cube and coolmusic for me the coolmusoc for tracks was too basy and tinny for me and my cube street stopped working after 2 uses!
    In the process of fixing it.
    Vocal star is big but wirth it as entry pa system. For vocal and track mainly. Digital display on back takes sd cards and chargable and usb bluetooth too.
    vocals are clean music clean. Around 200 40 mark. Maybe 300 some places.
    Done well with it for past few years but last time i only git one pound all day haha😂
    Been ill for a year and came back voice isnt the best but nit bad enough for only one pound haha😅😂.
    I wont give up busking though im after upgrading only cause my amp has been beaten up now but im deffo going to rebuy the vocal star pa system as i love the quality of the sound for vocal and tracks it doesnt have guitsr distortions though ir anything fancy. You'd have to add other things to it.
    I'm after trying some new amps but cannot choose as i want a smaller one.

Although its ok ,a busker friend said to me that if i upgrade my amp ,my takings will go up beacuse people hear the differnce in sound quality. i also think that physcologically a better amp makes you play better or at least when the quality of the sound is better you feel more comfortable. id be interested to peoples thoughts on this. Thanks for the great content as always Ben

    • @johnDBoone
      @johnDBoone 2 месяца назад +1

      Hi, the better the sound the more people will enjoy it. That probably will translate to higher donations. As for it influencing your performance I can tell you for sure it will. When you hear higher quality sound coming back at you you will almost automatically play better and definitely sing better. I know for me personaly, whenever I have a great audio I push myself to articulate a bit more and can really get into the song. Whereas with a dry tinny audio I'm struggling hear myself through the mix and tend to rush a bit. I think the better quality gives more confidence in what you are doing. Hope that makes sense to you. Hard to explain. But I hope it helps you some.

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  2 месяца назад

      Hey! So rad you've started busking again! I think on the whole better quality sound means an increase in donations. You can definitely still do well on a budget amp and there are still days that don't go so well even with a top notch amp... the nature of busking! 🤣 but as for the confidence in your performance - this is without question! I'd say this boost in confidence is another reason donations increase on the whole. The other thing worth mentioning is that a high quality amp introduces more opportunities as you can play gigs/events with it 🙌 thank you for the kind words! Stoked you're back out busking!

    • @AugustRadioProject
      @AugustRadioProject  2 месяца назад +1

      The Samson is the perfect middle ground. It’s high quality sound and can hold its own in a noisy area/when playing a gig as it’s 200w. It didn’t have any fancy features like the Mackie but if you’re style is to keep it simple then it has a great sound! It’s nice a durable too and comes with a soft case for when you’re carrying it around. I’d say if you’re not overtly worried about the additional features and also you’re cool with a 3 way EQ for the overall mix then the Samson is a great option! Especially if the deal is good! 😃🙌🏻
