I always cry when Max and Jirachi part ways. Jirachi will never see Max again, because when he wakes up in 1000 years he will be long gone. So sad. I just imagine Jirachi waking up and flying around looking for Max :'(

It's incredible that Asuka Hayashi was 13 years old when recording this. Her voice sounds so developed and mature. What a truly talented singer. The line: "sara sara nagaru kaze no naka de kimi mo" hits hard.
I remember watching the movie and hearing May hum the lullaby. It was such a beautiful tune, and I found myself really wanting to hear it in song form. Then came the credits to the movie, and I was surprised that they really did put it in song form. Truth be told, it didn't disappoint and is still great to this day. But seriously, this song truly does have a lullaby quality to it. I'm 23 now, but I listen to this when I have my insomnia moments. It's very soothing, and the lyrics truly fit as if you were singing to a child. A very beautiful piece and one of the best songs that the Pokemon franchise in America has put out for the movies.
I have been humming this tune for years to myself until the point of annoying others nearby. The thing is I had no idea where or when I heard it, then I discover May's lullaby on RUclips. Just rewatched the movie only to find out it not only has a song, but a really good one at that.

According to quantum mechanics, anything that can be imagined is real in either this universe, a parallel one, or an entirely separate one. So Pokémon really _could_ be real already, someplace else... :D "make a wish..."
by that logic there is a universe with a parallel dimension device to visit other universes so only a matter of time before it affects this universe and brings with it real pokemon

we meet many people along the road of life, those who we make friends with are some of the better people, but sometimes we must say goodbye to them, make sure that time together is well spent and not wasted, and when you must part, always remember them
It just shows, whether we live on one side of the world or the other. We are all human, and we all wish. And we should smile, as the song says for Pokemon connects us in ways that honestly are so beautiful. Ive found so many friends in Pokemon, both in the game and the real world and that's the real shooting star here. It's sort of a miracle what we've achieved, and there's so much going forward. For everyone.
This also marked the first Pokémon song to ever have it sung in both English and it's original Japanese audio track at the same time (4Kids always did distance themselves from the Japanese language and customs to localize it for U.S. audiences, but they kept it for once).
Right now is 2020 and a new decade has started! I come back to listen to this song so I can make a wish (again), good luck guys on your new journey in the new decade.
+ShadowSora94 This movie was released in English not long before they lost the rights to Pokemon. Maybe they knew the contract's expiration was coming, knew they wouldn't be able to renew it, and felt it was time to finally, if only once, give older fans what they wanted and stop hiding Japan from the younger fans.
Actually they had two, but thank you for the smarmy "correction" there, buddy. You definitely needed to ruin the moment by interjecting that as if companies can't see when a contract is set to expire and know in advance that they can't or don't wish to renew it. Thank you very much, we all bow to you for your selfless service.

Many years ago, my family and I returned back home to Texas from our trip to Canada. We actually made it back home really early in the morning, but I was pleasantly welcomed with this movie showing on cartoon network. So I watched this movie while the rest of my family was probably sleeping. And after this movie ended, Kids Next Door came on, lol.
The English version of Pokémon Jirachi Wish Maker reminds me of Disney's Studio Ghibli dubs. The translation is not word for word but it keeps the same plot and setting as the Japanese version and it also keeps the music 100% I wonder if the writers of the movie were inspired by Ghibli.
Leaving this song in English and Japanese is exactly why Pokémon Jirachi Wish Maker is the BEST English dub movie since Dragon Ball Z World’s Strongest (Ocean dub) & Sailor Moon R the Movie (Viz dub)
