I remember I was tired. I thought I was just overworked, I mean I was on tour, skating,
traveling, doing a million things. But then I had trouble standing up straight.
I have to say I was in pain, but I still thought it was from indigestion or something
minor. I never imagined what was in store for me.
I went to a physician in Peoria, Illinois, and suddenly I was having all these tests, scary tests. It all happened really fast, but one thing remember so clearly. I'll never forget when I first heard the words "You have cancer." At first, I was petrified. I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. A lot of things go through your mind, and sometimes all the thoughts aren't so good. But then, I made up my mind that I would fight and that I could do it. That's when I first said, "The only disability in life is a bad attitude." I really believe that.I had so much support from my friends and family and the great folks at The Cleveland Clinic. There were some tough times, but the chemotherapy wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was able to manage it and make it and I know that other people can too.but it didn't end there because after all of this it became worse that was after some few weeks so this time going for another surgery was out of my mind that was when my family have to go for another alternative by reading about Dr Harvey in a health forum who uses natural herbs and roots to cure cancer.so they decide to go for him then told him about my cancer condition and he said he will cure me only if we follow his instructions.so he gave us some herbs and roots which i administered for two weeks that was the first package,then seeing some strength in me ordered for another herbal medicine from Dr Harvey so after consuming that went for a test and guess what my result was that cancer free. was all Dr Harvey doings. I have learned a lot from my experience going through testicular cancer,but I guess what I want to say is that the experience wasn't as bad as what I feared. The fear was worse. I think a lot of has to do with switching to a plant-based diet and immunotherapy rather than doing a lot of toxic and chemical procedures at once
Im envious of people who have access to good health care but also happy for her husband. We do not all have the same "choices, as Megan put it". Some of us cant even get into get into the best cancer centers, due to lousy insurance. If we manage to get approved for a decent facility, we are forced to use step therapy; even if its not the best option for treatment. I cant even get genomic testing done. The Doctor tells me insurance wont cover it. If I call the ins co, they say; just have your Doctor submitted a referral and wont tell me anything else. So, Im left to wonder if the ins. might cover it. I suspect the problem is that the cancer center doesnt get paid enough for the testing. It all about profit.
Not to be negative...but if the lung cancer is small cell lung cancer, caused by smoking, the prognosis very poor. Voice of experience.
