The thing about Thailand is they are very meticulous with their presentation, branding, experience and most importantly QUALITY of the product. This mentality is reflected in their entire culture from the ornate design of their temples to the complex spices of their food. They are ultra perfectionists. Makes sense why Bangkok is the #1 most visited city on earth.

I got the bus into there literally last week and the queue was way out the door and round the corner. I had absolutely no idea it was Mark Wiens’ restaurant until I just saw this video 😅 I waited 5 minutes and had moved about 2 paces and got impatient so I moved on. I wish I had waited now! Love me a good pad kra pow I reckon I could easily put that away 😂

Damn you have heat tolerance. That thing was laced with pepper seeds as if it was tomato seeds. I'll def stop there to test myself next time i'm in thailand. Those mung beans are actually sold in bags and people buy them to snack on them since they're salted or spiced at times like a bag of chips. A little surprising to me to see them eaten with sweet mango and rice but who know it might actually be the way to do it.Over all good episode!

Given that there's a lot of local customers, i dont think its necessarily the youtube brand that made it as famous as it is.
And thats a great sign. Shows that it's probably the food (and extremely good location) that makes it popular.
You dont want a place to just be popular because of a person, but because of its product :)
Also their branding is extremely good, just look at the plates!

I think level 3 is the average person's level. Level 4 for people who like spicy food. The Ped Mark's level , suitable for a challenge. Normally, I ' m Thai, we'll add more chili fish sauce .It's a good idea for mango sticky rice after a spicy meal because it helps cool down the spiciness.

There’s a place called Krua Khun Puk on the bottom of Sukhumvit soi 11/1 that does a savage Pa Kra Pow if you get the chance to visit there I highly recommend 😎
Try pad kapao at 7/11, it tastes very good

I love very spicy food and I carry fresh habaneros(scotch bonnets or others)and hot sauce wherever I go in general. If I happen to go to Mark Wiens restaurant I will try for sure the level 5. I agree what you said about mangoes, my favourite fruit and having lived in the Philippines I cannot agree more. Subscribed to your channel it appeared in the algorithm recommendations

My favorite mango is kind of local, the mago sticky rice one or Nam dok mai one cant compete but this one gose better with mango sticky rice ka .

I’m Thai and it is my favorite restaurant I eat almost everyday order with Line man spicy levels 4 for me ❤ you can eat pretty spicy because even my mom and my brother they are struggle with level four🤣they can eat levels 2😅

Mark Wiens is partnered with someone else and they are using his cache to promote this place, the prices for a Pad Kra pao Gai is 129 Bahts which is more then double the price of what you would pay at a compatible Thai eatery elsewhere, I have never eaten there although I have walk past the place many time, mostly because the place was closed, I will try it next time, to see if its really worth paying double, somehow I have a feeling its more hype and Marks name then anything else. Believe me I know a good pad kra pao's Gai when I taste it, since I have visited Thailand for the last 36 years, and I remember Ekkamai Bus depot from way back, still looks same, they have done very little tot he place, the BTS is the only change there.
True Philippine Mango's are superb, but the worlds best Mango are in India the land of Mango's over 100 varieties and they are known as the Queen of Fruit, just be sure to visit in Mango Season May to July, Thai Mango's are deadly yum.

pad krapao, they choped the meat which is inferior to lump of meat marinated with soy sauce 2 hr prior to cooking. they put too much chilly too spicy.
