You are doing excellent job highlighting Kenya, to answer a few of your questions. I think a few of your guides have had difficulty in differentiating between political and geographical map. We have the Rift valley as political region that is different from geographical region, same goes for western Kenya. Before 2010 Kenya new constitution Kenya was divided into eight provinces namely Rift valley, Central, Eastern, Northeastern, Nyanza, Western, Coast and Nairobi. Rift valley as a geographical or geological entity, it is a linear downfaulted depression with normal faulting and with highlands on each side but as a political region it covers vast areas that are bigger and far from the valley. The political Western province covered only the are occupied by Luhya’s, which include Kakamega, Bungoma and Busia district now they are counties (note that in each of these counties or former districts we have three towns named the same as counties, KK, Bungoma and Busia towns). The geographic western region covers Bungoma, KK, Busia, Kitale, Eldoret, Kisumu, Kisii, Homabay, Siaya, Kericho and many other regions. Few more pointers. Bukusu in Bungoma and Trans-Nzoia are the largest but one of the seventeen clans of Luhya tribe.

Indians still play important role in our economy, and they are Kenyan citizen with all rights as 47th tribe. Many Asians moved to bigger cities and ventured capital-intensive industries such as manufacturing, construction pharmaceutical and wholesale. The second event was stagnation and rampant corruption during Moi’s 24 years rule, many left to European, North America and into the new emerging Tiger countries in Asia. The third reasons were low learning curve, while Kenyans were getting enlightened by new knowledge and technology Indians continued treat them as they did during colonial term with poor customer service, the Kenyans started venturing into this business proving better customer services. It was during this time cheap products from China band Dubai flooded the market. Not to throw shade on our Indians brothers and sisters but their role in the economy has diminish significantly
