I don’t care if you like Deere or not. Watching a guy who takes one hell of a lot of pride in what he does, takes initiative to master his craft, and goes above and beyond to equip himself adequately to perform everything required is a lot of fun to watch. You should be proud of what you have EARNED through time and dedication. If more of these people in the comments were like you, America would be a manufacturing powerhouse again.
Thanks for another great video ZK. It is interesting. Wow. That was a big piece to remove and put a new one back in. A lot of pieces to remove and the gull wing doors to be able to swing that piece out. One heavy piece that was. Wow. Amazing how big those belts were. I was thinking Of how much you had to R and R just t to get that drive unit out. Wow. With the gull wing doors off you can see how complex this combine is. Just unbelievable. Wow. Lines and belts and hydraulic hoses everywhere. Amazing how complex. Once you had the new piece installed it seems that things went fairly smoothly. I am amazed at how you do this. My compliments to you ZK for doing this job. Joseph seems to be coming along good with his training. He is fortunate to have you for a teacher. Thanks ZK for another learning opportunity on that big combine. Appreciate the video. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
You are a good mentor Zeth! Practical tips and actual making tasks easier for your trainee is wholesome to see. Some would let the trainee find out fr him/herself how a thing can be done, or done easier.
wow thats crazy.. that combine looks like a nightmare for maintenance.. i think claas has them beat in every way still.. would be interested to see the new new holland machine
To the people complaining about him working on low hour machines, seriously? Can’t you just enjoy the content? I love this channel and everything Zeth posts. If you’re bored of it, leave.
Hey I understand that your a busy guy, but I applied today with Sloan Implement and used you as a reference because I watch your videos and you had the link in your description of the video. I applied for the apprenticeship and hope to hear back soon. You videos have inspired me to try and do something different with my life and try something new.
I had to look that belt up when we first had one in the shop and the FH belt is about 37.5 feet long, or over 11,400mm. Theres also like 25-30 belts on the machine. Should be interesting to work on them when they get some age on them!
Not a hater,,, not a basher... but it took JD 3 years to release the X9 series... 13.5 has huge issues, fan drives have huge issues. They all have issues, and you're watching a channel that shows all their issues... Love the channel, love watching mechanical content... thx Zack for taking the time... No MFG is perfect, they all have their problems, or you would not have a job... LOL!!!
My mind might be a little fuzzy on this, but I seem to remember that a selling point on the Maximizer combines of the 90s was a reduction in the number of belts.........
Man, I am not a farmer but if I spent that kind of $$$ on an X9 and had these issues after a year I would be pissed. Regardless of run or separator hours that seems like a lot of issues for this machine,
We just bought a X9 1100 in September and used it in soybeans. Have you came across a good fix for the sheer bolts on the unloading auger shearing? We made a bracket to drop the back tank auger cover and that seemed to work.
On a S series combine, I know them so well I can tell what is causing every vibration from the seat of my pants but X series I'm still figuring it out. Never used a Pico scope.
These things are amazingly complex. When I compare this to the JD 55's we ran in the late 1950's it's totally unreal. It looked like there were wire connectors to the gull-wing doors when you took them off. Why do the doors need wiring?
Although I appreciate your skill and professionalism, I can't say the same for John Deere. One year old and needing major maintenance? Many/most of your videos are performing major maintenance on relatively low-time John Deere equipment.
I have had brand new trucks and tractors, not John Deere, breakdown and they were high end equipment. I honestly believe it’s all the parts being made in countries where labor is cheap and where few quality controls are in place. It’s time we returned to manufacturing here st home and stop depending on poor foreign production and products. My opinion
@@donalddehaven3229 I agree with you. I'm a truck driver. I primarily drive a Freightliner powered by a 15 liter Detroit Diesel and 12 speed automatic transmission manufactured by the same company. Most of the time we are above 70, 000 lbs. The drive train is often under a load for 10 hours per day. It's rare for a truck with under 600,000 miles to have a substantial parts failure (occasionally I'll get an engine light for a sensor, but nothing serious or expensive).
Just shows how bad technology as got!! You post awesome stuff but this is a total disaster regarding a year old machine!! Thank god we got rid of Deere and sadly with awesome Fendt👍👍😀😀
Your idea of a total disaster and mine are two different things. I work on a combine for one day under warranty and that’s a total disaster? I’m tired of these comments.
@ZKMasterTech You should not waste your time and energy replying to these turds. You're helping people with John Deere products. I don't know why they watch. They probably don't understand what you're doing, so they bash it. It's over their heads! Just keep the green iron moving, and us John Deere people appreciate what you teach us!!!
I am appalled by the quality of JD ,to pay $1000,000.00 for these machines and have them break down so quickly is unacceptable imo. The engineering and drive systems for the most part are way overcomplicated and to hard to service .Once these machines are past warranty their resale will plummet because of cost of repair as mother Deere is famous for overcharging on parts and repairs.
Won’t watch any more disaster purchases from JD! Can’t believe someone spent millions on this!! Our Cat diggers do 20-30000 hours in 3 years!! Our combines do 2000hrs a year . Don’t understand the financial implications and justifications! Buy a couple or 3 older a run. Just my opinion but we make money and keep the old stuff going! !!

Another great vid! Keep the deere's running
The complexity of modern machines is "mind boggling". Your skills as a professional are obvious. 👍🏻
I like watching people who know what they’re doing. Great video ZK. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It always blows my mind when i seen the inside of a cobine, there is just so much stuff going on.
I believe that's the smoothest running combine I've ever seen.
Z-K YOU are the man 😮

The engineering on those machines is just amazing. Very impressive on how much work those combines can do.
Happy New year to you all. Be safe, keep that GIM. Luv and best to ya all Julian U.K

Oh My, that Engendered nightmare should require the Designer to Help You with the Repairs!
They would just get in my way.
That is one complicated set of drive mechanisms when seen without the gull wing doors. I wonder what made the original sheave go out of balance.
Great awesome video , wild what they come up with to make that work , not impressed with the drive failure that new
Can they possibly make those combines any more complex,I can see big repair bills as these machines age.good video.
I noticed that the offending part said "made in Portugal " . Papa Deere really does look at the world as its oyster .
Buenas tardes, muy buen video como siempre!!
Nice job done
The shake is from the clean grain screens moving back and forth
Great video! Really good information and learned alot. Got any sprayer videos?😅
Not yet!
Great videos
That one belt looks like a snowmobile one, kinda works the same way too
My mind might be a little fuzzy on this, but I seem to remember that a selling point on the Maximizer combines of the 90s was a reduction in the number of belts.........
Seems like they did away with all the chains. :)

Need to make sure the augers are shimmed correctly at the folding part and that they are timed correctly.
I started working at P&K Equipment early December. Now I'm not sure I want to see an X9 turn up on my board lol.
Wonder why they went back to variable speed on feeder house instead of the gear shifting mechanism, i personally liked direct gear shift better.
I think Deere really missed the chance to clean up the design of things compared to the older machines.
How much would that part that was replaced cost? I had a 6600 when I was farming. You really made it look easy
I would bet that machine has at least 300 feet (maybe more) of hoses and at least 100 feet of belts.
👍👍👍
Does john deere not use a pico scope for vibrations? We use it all the time on the lexions
On a S series combine, I know them so well I can tell what is causing every vibration from the seat of my pants but X series I'm still figuring it out. Never used a Pico scope.
Nice Vid!
LSW's just make the X9's look that much more beastly!
Break out a stack of $1000 bills to replace that long belt if it goes bad.
Did I see y’all scratch the outside of the grain tank with that hoist?
What’s the Price of that Long Belt?
$2k
Is this feederhouse drive a PIP? What is/was the issue?
These things are amazingly complex. When I compare this to the JD 55's we ran in the late 1950's it's totally unreal.
It looked like there were wire connectors to the gull-wing doors when you took them off. Why do the doors need wiring?
Work lights, perhaps?
That would make sense.
LED lights for service
Thanks.
The reason people hate on JD so much is because of jealously. The best is always the most hated. Hate on haters.
Como me gustaría trabajar con ustedes
the amout of belts on that thing i rather have a case ih way less belts to deal with
Case way better combine than Deere.
i know that is right @@brucebaker4462
Case combines are junk honestly @@brucebaker4462
$2000,00 for that 36 foot feeder house belt !!!! OMG are there supplying KY jelly with that or going in dry .😮
And people say a Claas Lexion looks complicated to work on
The best part is no part. That's looks too complex to be reliable.
Have you guys had to replace many fuel tanks on these machines?
Must be an issue because he said they are backordered and.this machine needs one.
Have you been disappointed in these combines? As far as quality.
Instead of having a 47' long belt, Why don't they power it with a hydraulic motor?
I knew mechanics that would not share any information because they were afraid someone would replace them
Here I am keeping 9760's running. Vibration? isn't that normal ? LOL
Enjoy the fixit videos immensely , but if John Deere wanted to stop the backyard fixit farmer they've succeeded .
Price ?
About 1,000,000 usd
looks like a jungle

Seems like nothing is really built to last anymore. And nothing is designed for a common man to fix when the machine needs repairs.
