- After waiting nearly a year for the WOW Mix of "Shame," and being treated only with unforgivable edits, Nettwerk has finally delivered w/ this rare promo featuring the full 8-minute version of the deep trance/tribal affair that is "Shame" (Way out West Mix). Almost unrecognizable from the original, the thrashing guitars and whiny vocals from the original are replaced with 4/4 tribal rhythms and spacious sonic atmospheres as well as a very moving melody that builds gently with ease. A bouncy, ragga-esque bassline and some grinding synths provide the backbone to the remix.
this song is written like a screenplay with characters, obstacles, plot points, inner and outer motivations . . . but most importantly, it's sad and hopeful and nostalgic . . . like all of us

No thought put into it? I disagree...it's a slow burner intended for the dancefloor and headphones alike and has dubby undertones. It builds into the thunderous, reverberating midsection followed by the smooth "calm" after the storm with the gentle chords and piano leads; very spacious. The original was nothing special beyond a forgettable alt-rock affair.

Well... it's not of my taste, i prefer the orginal, for me this one is the nothing special, not near of the original beauty melody. i hate when i'm waiting for the song start and it ends...

There's no substance to this mix. It just wanders around doing nothing. I noticed you borrowed the review from another website as the other commenter stated - and I think it's pretty lame how they denounce the original's "whiny vocals" when the song had so much going on for it - starting off small and then working itself into a deteriorating, glitching piece that reflected the state of the girl he's singing about. Thought put into it; unlike this.
Subjective dude. I think there's plenty of thought that went into this. Transformed it into a whole 'nother song practically.
