I always heard about Scott's death but never knew the details--thank you for educating us. This man truly was a saint. He was a pioneer of hip hop and no one ever gave him his due or memorialized him. But KRS one always acknowledged him. RIP Scott La Rock.

Scott was my Mentor this story is not true they set Scott up before they killed him.
They started off with tension that Scott believed was dead and squashed, but ppl will hold on until they see the opportunity. I don't put anything past anyone. They signed to a major label and we know how they feel about us preaching unity. They could've very well paid off K and D to get this over conscious man out their way. RIP. SCOTT

'South Bronx' was not the diss, it was the 'Bridge is Over' because MC Shan put out 'South Bronx, Kill that Noise'. Then MC Shan made 'The Bridge' and then the 'Bridge is Over' came out. There is no mention of Mr Magic or any thing until the 'Bridge Is Over'
There are folks, to this day, that blame D-Nice for what happened to Scott La Rock.
The way I look at it, why call him if all people? Like dude had beef with people, not Scott. I would’ve called the cops to go to the scene if it’s that dyer. He lost his life showing up to help him An when they get there he ain’t around. Think about it, there wasn’t cell phones back then. You either landline call or pay phone. He’d still be alive hadn’t he called him An involved him in what he had going on. KRS did the right thing not dealing with him. Because it was that call that started it all. Rest up Scott

A smooth humble dude I used to see Mc Lyte & D Nice I think they was dating. Dj Mick boo use to carry the crate's of records & ect. This made me research if there’s a list of all the rappers who have been killed since the inception of hip hop.
Although it’s impossible to document all artists, there is a pretty extensive list. There’s also stats showing that hip hop artists have anywhere from 5 to 32 times higher chances of dying from murder.
2022 is the year with the highest amount of rapper deaths at 7. Fuckin 7 in one year. Wild.
I encourage y’all to do some research on it, it’s really interesting to see how the frequency of murder is increasing in the era where so much of the music is about killing. Sad, but interesting 🤷♂️

I saw Boogie Down Productions in concert for the first time within 8 months of Scott La Rock being murdered. Many of the people my age that love hiphop do not know the impact of Scott's death. Had he not been murdered, there would have absolutely not been any boundaries to his production abilities. Many people view Premier, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, RZA, Kanye West, and Dilla as the greatest hiphop producers ever. I am one of those people. However, Scott would have been right there with them.
Two other people that were either murdered or killed in the late 1980s and early 1990s that would have had a huge impact on hiphop were Paul C and Subrock. I often think about what hiphop would have been or would be right now had they lived. Rest in peace to Scott, Paul, and Sub. God rest their souls.
