Thank you Baba my wife Jackie adores you and follows your recipes and is defiantly going to make the Vieno Maznik for Vasilica with a coin for Macedonian New Years Day on the 14th January 2023. We will see which family will have the lucky piece with the coin. Streken Bozik from the TALEVSKI family Australia. God Bless.

Thank you very much for your recent comment on my cooking channel. It began as a labour of love for my grandchildren because they didn’t want to forget their Macedonian cooking. It was much to my surprise how popular these videos became, it seems everyone else wanted to learn as well. I will try to do the roasts for you in my future videos. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family. Love, Baba

Shopriche baba , I love your channel and am so thankful I get the opportunity to learn as I regret not taking the opportunity to when my baba was healthy . Can I ask if I can use olive oil or will this change the taste / texture .

      Hello Jessica,
Thank you so much for your comment!! It is better if you use a lighter oil (vegetable oil). I use Unico but you can use whichever brand you want. I have never tried using Olive Oil. I wouldn’t recommend using Olive Oil for baking.
      Love,

You can also call it Banitsa like they do in Pirinska Makedonia. No problem especially since Serbs also use that word but pronounce it differently. Another awesome traditional recipe done the old way! More work but it makes an absolutely delicious Pita!
