Ageing Casper The White Lion And Brothers Still Alive And In Control of Satara Lion Pride

- Filmed on the 25th of June 2024 next to the S100 close to Satara Rest Camp in Kruger National Park.
Casper the White Lion and his Shishangaan brothers have been leading the Satara Lion Pride for nearly five years. As they turn ten years old in 2024, they have managed to hold their territory near the Satara Rest Camp in Kruger National Park without facing significant challenges from other lions. Despite nearing the end of their lifespan, they are still frequently seen with the Satara Pride, including two young lion cubs. However, with many young male lions nearby looking to take over a pride, it's uncertain how much longer they can maintain control as the Shishangaan brothers begin to show signs of aging.

- When you come across a sighting, slowly pull over on the side of the road closest to the animal, but keep a safe distance and turn OFF your engine
- If there are animals in the road, immediately stop at least 20 m from them
- The lane furthest from the sighting should NEVER be blocked, so that others can pass if they want to
- Don’t linger longer than a few minutes at a sighting, so that others can view it too
- Never go off the designated roads
- Never climb out of your vehicle during a drive, or hang out of your car windows or sunroof
- Don’t hoot or blare loud music
- Avoid driving into vegetation, as this could damage the environment or kill small animals
- During night drives, never shine a spotlight directly in animals’ eyes
- Never make noise to get animals to move, stand up or otherwise react for pictures
- Respect the rangers, and always comply with their requests or instructions

This old lion has my utmost respect, he moves like I do, with arthritis in my bones, but with a mind that still thinks young. Yes, beautiful to watch!

If they were living peacefully life they’d have more cubs. These guys and the pride are dealing with challenges all the time. We only see them when they come onto the roads that the channel owner and tourists in the car can see.
Tourist don't know how big the Kruger really is they just see as far as they can See from the roads and only see lions that are usually in the same areas close to the road or in the road but what they also don't know is those lions they see also cover big distances and there is alot of threats other lions,leopards, hyena, elephant, buffalo,rhino,snakes. there is also other lions in the Kruger that never seen vechiles or roads in the Kruger that is how big it is, if you know nothing about direction and I blindfold you and drop you there you are guaranteed a gonner.
These three brothers are a living legend and whatever they do or not, it is wonderful to see them together or mostly at least by two of them.
One of my dreams is to see them in their lands... soon in September 🤞.
And I do not see why they could not last a few more years despite ageing and remaining united 🙏.
They are still strong and in rather good condition so only a very strong coalition could bring disaster...

It would be heartbreaking for viewers to hear bad news about Casper and his brothers, I know Casper and one of his brothers are limping do to old age ...if Casper is so popular why doesn't wild life for animals take control and help these lions? I would prefer to see Casper and his brothers remaining days living comfortable in a conservation sanctuary, so these beautiful famous brothers have medical care .. so we as viewers can still enjoy seeing and hearing about Casper and brothers? 🙏💗🦁🦁🦁🦁
Doing so would rob them of the right to live in their natural habitat, as Nature intended. The bigger priorities are dealing with human-wildlife conflict, habitat loss and poaching.

I agree with you. I watched as this magnificant animal limped, and I thought to myself, how will this animal die?
Will he be attacked and suffer a horrible death?
How unfair this seems to me.
It seems very sad, and yet this is how nature works.
Death is often of a cruel and painful nature.
And yet I believe that God provides for His animals, just as He provides for us humans.
They don't feel the pain of death because they go into "shock".
Just as us humans do.
Going into "shock" means that these beautiful creatures won't feel the pain.
And the same is true of us humans (this is what I believe).
These animals are God's creation.
They demonstrate to us the beauty of God.
I truly believe that this business of "going into shock" is there to protect animals, and to protect us humans from the devestating pain at the time of death.
