Love the name of your place! Good job replacing the door, no more SQUEEEEEAK. We’re just getting started (should say restarting) our homestead and channel too. Good luck to you and yours!
Much appreciated! We are a mile away from the Mason Dixon line, so it is fitting. Best of luck to you guys as well! Reach out if there is something we could help with!
Lol love it, you get the notifications! A few hours late on this one, the 'schedule' feature defaults to the next day and I forgot to change it.. whoops -Alex
That wzs a excellent job on the door installation, I do like watching people do jobs like this themselves what type of snake was that at the start of the video? Best regards from Australia
No you don't use that for this application. Sill gasket primarily is to provide a capillary break between concrete and wood to eliminate moisture wicking, with the secondary function of stopping air leakage. But in this case steel won't wick from concrete, and the air leakage is handled with the polyurethane sealant around the perimeter.
Thanks so much for this video. Installing mine today. I am sure I will come back to the video several times!
Love that the door is Mason Dixon Acres green. The corner looks much better, too.
Absolutely! Fixing up the place one bit at a time. I fixed a bunch of other siding while I was at it off camera.

Sounds like doing battle with the door is no longer an option. It will be nice with the new one in there.
It's sooo much nicer, especially with the gas springs. Plus it rained a ton a few days ago and didn't leak a drop.. success!
A nice piece of ridgid styrofoam insulation over the house wrap inside the bulkhead wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the great video!

Not sure really!
Nice job on the video...including the short break for the tree fire!!! Did the new door preform well during the recent rain storm?
Haha thanks for all your help! Yes, I checked and not a drop got in. Amazing what a properly installed door can do!

How many steps down to the basement? Do you have a conventional door at the foot of the stairs?
Around 8, and nope
its like a bath tub change the caulking at times.
Thanks for the video, which will be helpful doing my own replacement. About how long did it take you?
A couple days of part time work I believe
You don't need any foam that they usually use under walls in outside walls in between the bottom of the door and the concrete? Just curious

Awesome job Alex!
Thank ya bud!
How do you stop water from getting in?
Head flashing above and sealant elsewhere
