I was using High risk and rhythm shooting and was doing decently. Once I moved it down it normal risk i performed a lot better. I've mostly played Myteam this year and with so many players in and out of line ups, that set up has me shooting more consistently.
NGL I hate this ! I dont feel like learning how to Rythm shoot. I am a real casual. I got a job, Wife , kids and a bunch of 💩 to do all the time. Im tired of coming home from a hard day of work and shooting 3 for 12!
I feel the struggle man, I'm 37 years old, and got a full time job. But if you invest now, it'll pay off down the line. It's not necessary (it's pretty close) but it'll really pay to learn this now. Because I don't think it's going anywhere
you can just roll the right stick instead of down and up. If you start at 6 o’clock you can roll it to 3 o’clock or 9 o’clock doesn’t have to be up to 12 oclock
Excellent video! I absolutely love rhythm shooting and I have been grinding in the lab with it for quite some time. I’ve been urging people to use it more than the button. It’s open up my scoring capability (hop jumpers, fades, spin jumpers, etc.) at a consistent level. It’s helped me in playnow online as well to the point where people accuse me of cheating lol.

I've been experimenting with which shots are better for rhythm shooting, and I think signature player jumpshots are more consistent than custom jumpers. Still working this theory tho 😅
This changed my shooting big time I was doing it wrong the whole time and just holding right stick down instead of going up. Making a lot more shots now.
@@manguman7547 exactly that brotha! You don’t necessarily have to flick it up i personally rotate it in a circle at the top of my shot and it registers it as me using rhythm shooting

I couldn't agree more with the different animation load ups. imo the community not taking this into consideration when discussing shooting... the 5-12 different player animation profiles, all with diff timing. Im waiting on the park/rec gameplay bc it’s like latency and lag was not considered when implementing these new features which is crazy since these are the most played game modes
You need faster Internet and to be off wifi and plug your console directly in to your modem or router as well as get a high speed Ethernet cable that supports GB speeds. Any game with multiplayer is gonna have at least some kind of latency but doing those things will greatly reduce it. There's also gaming routers with dedicated ports to connect console and you can have it set up to always prioritize the console at peak times so you never slow down.
Thanks Kevin. Could you consider maybe changing to a different controller layout for your controller overlay? The black section around the joystick makes it really difficult to see when you have the right stick off center, especially if you glance over when it is already not in the center.
I always watch the ball and match the motion with the stick when I’m rhythm shooting. I also got my shot feedback visibility on simple to not show contest because most contest are either open, light, or tight (rarely) and you can easily green any of those with rhythm shooting just gotta shoot that shit.
As a PG shot creator i use turbo pull ups, spin jumpers, step backs, side steps, post fades and its just not viable to use rhythm shooting when i have 10+ different shot animations and timings to deal with… i feel like rhythm shooting is more suited to spot ups
Just put out a video where my most success with Rhythm shooting is through Steph's advanced shots. Other than turbo fades, everything else is better with Rhythm shooting. It does take work to get your stick placement and technique at a level where you're comfortable, but the payoff is well worth it.

They will always buff the features they want the community to get used to… yall remember when they tried the shot stick years before and the community cried until they reverted it?? They have a clear vision of what they want the game to be played like and they will endorse certain mechanics over others and favor players to adapt to that play style… you can’t even really branch out of stepbacks with shot button as well as w/ the stick anymore…. Ok here's the thing regarding fades. KDs fade to the right with shot button and turbo is different and faster than trying to do it with releasing turbo in time to not do a step back with rythm shooting. Could the technique at 4:36 in the vid be the key to really doing rythm fades??
I'm trying to learn it but it just feels odd, can't grasp it even with this brilliantly informative guide breaking it down step by step. If this can put a stop to zens im all for it, even if it means i need to step back from 2k (i missed several wide open catch and shoots in a row in theater on my center and some goon started screaming he hopes my mum dies of cancer, wtf is wrong with 2k community)
First, thank you for the kind words! But let me tell you man, it might look easy in this guide, but like you, I struggled with it at the beginning. There's a wall you have to break through (mechanics and mentallity), but when it starts to click, the payoffs will be huge! I can do almost every advanced shot with right stick. The only one i cant seem to figure out is how do you do the sprinting fade with the right stick?! I hate having to let go of RT you get a slower fade
Just wanted to say since it wasn't made crystal clear in the video, you can do the "flick" in rhythm shooting in any direction. If you are holding up to do a go-to shot, you can do the flick going down. If you are holding the stick to the left to do a post fade, you can flick to the right (or up if more natural for you). The way Mike initially introduced it made it seem to me like you had to go from down to up all the time which is not true.
Doesn't seem to work with free throws, a few shot types too (like I'm talking maybe 2 or 3 that are tough to make it work). But otherwise, I think this is worth the investment!
im here after the patch. It just ruined my shooting. I have couple more of builds thanks to vc glitch and that just made my game worse cause i have to deal with more jumpshots.... What's your my career visual cue on jumpshots? do u have any more tips?
I think custom visual cue affects shot timing more than shot profile. Shot profile changes fades for me more than stand still jumpers. What are your thoughts? It was easier to test with button imo. Green window is so huge with rhythm shooting haha

I don't have a problem in fact rhythm shooting was easy to get for me... My problem is more often than not it makes me step back instead of immediately doing catch and shooting... And messes me up hardcore.. but I don't wanna turn off default cuz I like to do dribble moves occasionally
Anyone still using the button to shoot or the meter has to be garbage. Been using rhythm shooting since I got the game on day one and one other but if info that I didn't hear him mention is not only timing both shot cues correctly but to really simplify it you need to push up after pulling the stick down with the same speed so that the 1st and second part of release are at equal speeds. Meaning you can't have the pull down be longer than your push back up they have to be at the same pace or you'll only green half of the rhythm shot. 3:18

I've been using rhythm shooting since the beginning and the only shot I cant time is the hop jumpers you use when you move the right stick left or right. Do you move the right stick back down then go up or do you rotate the right stick up after doing the hop jumper
If you’re doing RS left for your hop, you should flick to the right for tempo. Same for RS to the right, flick to the left for tempo. Always 180 degrees from how you triggered the shot
Not too many, its more about getting a feel for how it is to use than to actually master the timing of a specific player. I just did this drill with the Suns and Timberwolves then I skipped around to some other teams and it made sense!

Every single person talks about how great rhythm shooting is. Like I feel if it wasn’t stupid to learn it would be ok. But for me and everyone I know personally. Your either to fast tempo, or to late timing. And you can’t get both green.
Do whatever works for you! Thats also viable, for me the follow through timing with the release of the RS made sense. So whatever works to give you your target is what you should use!

Rhythm shooting is uncomfortable, if you push the right stick up too fast or slow it's a missed shot, it's easy to miss shots with rhythm shooting since you maybe in a comp game.

@pauljayme5138 otherwise it would be a pointless way to shoot. You'd never get a good shot off. Takes too long without preloading.

I've started using it on fades. Money
It's a great addition but if they keep it next year i hope they make it viable for all types of shots (post spin-jumper, RT fades ect...)

Every single person talks about how great rhythm shooting is. Like I feel if it wasn’t stupid to learn it would be ok. But for me and everyone I know personally. Your either to fast tempo, or to late timing. And you can’t get both green.

You must be double tapping it really quickly if that's the case bro, and also make sure that you're not holding the left stick in any direction.
I was having this same problem aswell! I figured out that the problem is holding right trigger (r2)

Do whatever works for you! Thats also viable, for me the follow through timing with the release of the RS made sense. So whatever works to give you your target is what you should use!

I think there is a menu during the game that you can pick to tell Paul George to Gard Doncic because maxey is to litht for that lol
Rhythm shooting is uncomfortable, if you push the right stick up too fast or slow it's a missed shot, it's easy to miss shots with rhythm shooting since you maybe in a comp game.
The first few days of getting used to it is tough sure, but once you break that wall it gets easier and it starts to make sense a little more!
