Batman and Geralt Debate The Kill Rule (AI)

  • Batman, the Dark Knight of Gotham, represents a steadfast view of justice as an absolute ideal, a world of black and white where right and wrong are clearly defined. Geralt of Rivia, the famed Witcher, counters with his experiences of a world filled with shades of gray, where choices are tough and morality is often ambiguous.
    These videos are written by me, and many of them are part of an ongoing, multiversal narrative. If you would like any characters to be added to the cast, particularly from gaming, let me know in the comments and I will try to work it into the story.

    Geralt actually would have been much more agreeable with Batman as he think evil is evil regardless lesser or necessary et. It is the methods that make it so different as Geralt will kill to enact justice while Batman has a "no kill" policy.

    • @TheRealRightPrice
      @TheRealRightPrice 4 месяца назад +2

      For Batman it's a personal choice not to kill, to limit himself to not taking that route as killing would be far easier for him and if he started he knows himself well enough to know that he wouldn't stop. He'd be perfectly fine with the criminals and villians he fights getting executed by the state, the problem is just that his main rogues gallery always gets ruled as not guilty due to criminal insanity and comitted to a mental institution rather than an actual prison or death penalty. If the legal system sentenced them to death he wouldn't have a problem with it, he just won't do the deed himself for personal reasons.

    Geralt might be the only character that i can confidently say would be a match for Batman step for step. Blow by blow and thought by thought they are in essence, the same. They both rely on preparation and careful thought and adapt accordingly. If Geralt were to ever appear in the Batman verse. Batman may very well have that rival that he legitimately cannot defeat nor Geralt could very well ever defeat him except he’s willing to spill blood.

      Don't believe it, Batman is known for pushing his body and mind to the human limits, I have seen many claim that Geralt is superhuman, but how could he be? If we go to the books Geralt was completely crushed by Vilgefortz in a fight, normal humans like Bonhart and Cahir can stall him in a sword fight, he was almost killed by a pack of Nekkers, he was killed by a guy with a pitchfork, and Olgierd can give him a fight, although Geralt is considered the best swordsman on the entire Continent, Batman is a master in 127 combat styles including melee weapons, as we saw in Arkham City when using Ra's Al Ghul's sword and talking about This is a guy who depended on the Lazarus Pit to live, so he must be thousands of years old, Batman trained in the League of Assassins and was the best apprentice and was able to defeat him, he can also match Lady Shiva who is considered the DC's best martial artist, in addition to Batman being also considered one of the best martial artists on earth, his IQ is 192, and from what I have researched about Geralt his IQ must be 120, Batman in his world is considered the best detective in the world, Geralt is not, he has good detective skills but not at the level of Batman, he has a suit that protects him and has Gadgets, both use concern and study their enemies and thus know how to defeat them, in a physical fight Batman would win because his skill in martial arts and his feats such as defeating characters more experienced than Geralt himself at 150 years old, Ra's Al Ghul is proof of this, in a fight with prep time, Batman wins and street because by far it has better technology in addition to its gadgets, I don't see Geralt dealing with a Batmobile.
      Geralt is basically a Deathstroke but with magic.

    From what I know of Geralt (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), he's always struck me as Batman but more realistic.
    Batman has his no-kill rule and is always able to maintain it because of a combination of money/technology and plot armor.
    His money & technology give him various means to take down criminals in nonlethal ways that they would never expect while also protecting himself.
    And, plot armor comes into play in that Batman never seems to be forced into a position where he has to make the hard choice: kill or be killed & Kill or allow an innocent to die. Something or someone always comes into play that allows him to get around it.
    He also has the flawed belief that if he crosses that line even once he'll become just as bad or worse than the criminals he fights.
    Geralt also has a no-kill rule but he is frequently forced to break it because, unlike Batman, he doesn't have money & technology that gives him a distinct edge over all his opponents and he doesn't have the same level of plot armor that allows him to avoid making that hard choice. When he is forced into a position where it's kill or be killed and/or kill or allow an innocent to die, there is often no dancing around it. Because of this Geralt doesn't have the same false belief as Batman. He feels guilt for the lives he has taken and while it has changed him, it hasn't turned him into a monster like Batman believes. He hasn't lost his morals and continues to fight to protect the innocent.

I know some let him live, but I thought that’d be more of what Geralt would actually do, because in game, you’re walking by at least a dozen of nude corpses of women around Ciri’s age, and Geralt was extremely angry about it. Good thing jr. never actually touched her, there’d probably had been an option to slowly kill him.
    Batman on the hand, would have simply beaten him to a pulp.

Witcher in the lore supposed to be superhuman, with super reflex, super agility, & greater strength than normal human. That doesn't really sound like Geralt. I mean the voice itself does but not the message. It sounds like he's trying to convince Batman that there are shades of grey to evil but the Geralt I remember wouldn't have seen it like that. One of the more famous Witcher quotes comes as a response to a wizard trying to convince Geralt to kill a girl in the interest of the "greater good". The quote goes: “Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitary. The definition’s blurred". In this conversation Batman claims that the Witcher is the one blurring the lines and actually uses those words.
    In all honesty, I don't know much about Batman and it might be the case that he adheres to his code of morality more strictly than Geralt has. However, even if that were the case I don't think Geralt would ever be arguing in favor of shades of grey of evil and the avoidance of responsibility by claiming difference in perspective.
