  • The San Fransisco startup, Skully, Inc. shuts down after sucessful
    Indigogo crowdfunding campaign. The creator of the smart helmet was
    recently hit with a lawsuit by a former employee that claims Marcus and
    Mitchell Weller used funds inappropriately by purchasing personal
    trips, motorcycles, sportscars and more with investment funds. Early
    supporters that invested $1400 not likely to receive smart helmets from
    Skully.

    I don't understand why they needed to build a helmet. could've easily made check pads for popular helmets that included the tech and even drill a little hole if you wanted the camera.
    great video!

      And with technology always advancing that would actually be -serviceable-!! Great comment, I was wondering if they were running into issues with their technology being outdated, wouldn’t want a warehouse full of useless helmets laying around...

    and what's fucked up is all the people who prepaid their orders for a helmet are not gonna get reimbursed. I read that they were using the funding money for buying vipers and going to strip clubs and paintings, wow man it was a pretty cool helmet what a shame

    Glad i never bought one :P I just buy new motorcycles instead they dont go bankrupt and no preorder madness!

    • @MotorcyleJohn
      @MotorcyleJohn  8 лет назад

      +MotoTenacity Preorder madness! Haha What would you pay for a smart helmet, if the company offered quality and was not in jeopardy of going bankrupt? One more thing lol would you expect technical support/firmware updates or just buy it outright like a Bluetooth helmet? Shitty that Skully was a sham..what a shame.

      +Motorcycle John I'm not sue what I would pay. I wear a shoei rf1200 that's my max budget there. They could change if I actually held the skully and saw it in person lol. I'm pretty low tech. Only thing I use is a Sena smh10 which hasn't even made its was to my new helmet yet

      +Motorcycle John the basics are cool but firmware updates should be available as things do change.
