The horn in the video is a Conn 88H with a King counter weight. The recorded performance was played on a King Duo Gravis bass trombone with a 1 1/2 G mouthpiece.
Hey Alan. Thanks for posting, it has helped me alot! I am in 8th grade and thanks to your help i can play this. It took me a while to learn to double tongue from your other videos. Thanks again!
@ShinyHunterBWord I got about 2 other kids to switch to trombone i'm not loosing my tittle in first chair; but, really thats good to know, hopefully it will be like this in High School. Good luck to You, my friend!
@Theluap21 I'm in 8th grade also. What do you consider to be high F? The one that is 2 1/2 ledger lines above the staff or the one that is 6 ledger lines above the staff? High A is 7 ledger lines above the staff.
do u have sheet music for this and i go to jackson olin and i cant seem to play for a long time what do i do and i have a deniis wick heavy top mouthpiece is that a goo d mouth piece
Im in 8th Grade I play loud and confident, next year I am going to be the only Trombone in my band, Thank you for the tips is there anything else we could go over?
Mr. Ralph, what mouthpiece do you recommend playing this piece, also would you use a large bore or medium bore if you want to start learning this piece?
Henry Trettenbach It depends on the instrument. Some, such as the Bach 36 has the f attachment screwed onto the bell so it can removed or added. Most of the time, however, you have to buy a new instrument.
i play trombone i only been playing for a year im good but nothing compared to u from now own if i need help on my trombone like tips and other stuff can i ask u??????????
When you are running out of air puff your cheeks and use the muscles in your cheeks to blow out the air as you simultaneously breath in using your nostrils.
Bach is only good if it is pre-Elkhart. Unfortunately, Conn-Selmer doesn't make Conn 88Hs anymore. Now they are just made by the Bach division and stamped Conn.

Dang you own you must be like one of the top trombone players in the world in your youth
wow. just incredible playing
You are my new hero.
@trombonemassa
No particular reason... I just happened to have it. The king (bass) tombone does have a king counter weight (not a conn).
@PizzaandmangaruleXD
It would be the bell section. You might be able to keep the slide and match it to an F attachment bell.
How to tongue so fast? I would like to know...
You need to double tounge or triple tounge. There are many videos out there that teach you to do so
Lol, Just flutter
@@charleyhibschweiler4555 yeah obviously
Colin Joseph you realize that comment was made a year ago right?
My 2 or 3 videos on low notes (pedal and trigger) pretty well cover the basics. I'd have to see and hear you in order to make suggestions.
@TehGoal
I've done it on a King DuoGravis with a 1 1/2 G mouthpiece. In fact the video is with the 1 1/2 G.
KING for the win
@bigdavehunter
O yeah, it's really allamazing how rapidly BETWEEN NOTES the instrument can be played in the right hands.

It is ... it plays pretty good also.
@@alanraph9433 nice! If it’s plays good, should I give it a try? I also have a conn 88hcl and a Yamaha counterweight on my beater trombone.
Im in 8th Grade I play loud and confident, next year I am going to be the only Trombone in my band, Thank you for the tips is there anything else we could go over?
holy crap thats amazing
Gracias maestro , felicidades bendiciones...
Mr. Raph, just out of curiosity, why did you put the king counter weight on your conn trombone and the conn counter weight on your king trombone?
Mr. Ralph, what mouthpiece do you recommend playing this piece, also would you use a large bore or medium bore if you want to start learning this piece?
"It hasn't happened yet..." yea ..... I'm still waiting.
May I ask a question? Is the f-attachment on a tenor trombone attached where the tuning slide is or do you have to buy a new trombone?
Henry Trettenbach It depends on the instrument. Some, such as the Bach 36 has the f attachment screwed onto the bell so it can removed or added. Most of the time, however, you have to buy a new instrument.
Would this be considered classic 90's golden era trombone?
I'm in 8th grade, and i want to improve quickly. How do you suggest the fastest way to improve.
Mr. Ralph what's the best advice you can give a straight trombonist struggling with tonguing?
i play trombone i only been playing for a year im good but nothing compared to u from now own if i need help on my trombone like tips and other stuff can i ask u??????????
I need sheet music! lol I play a Euphonium but if i'm correct the notations are the same
I'm watching 10 years later
Wow... I wanna try that. Were you ever told you deserve to be enshrined in you own hall of fame?
i cant double tounge that fast.. i dont know why.. i tried it multiple times but i just cannot get them to be even or anything.
I'm in 8th grade and I can play a high F. How High were those last notes? I would really want to know I love high notes.
@taylorfong1
I don't think I did that one. Who is your teacher?
Alan
nice. where could i find the sheet music for this?
@MrTromboneLover Yeah it's a Lindberg.
While watching this i am holding my trombone specs: size 48 mouth pice,trigger,and its kind of a copper color made by yamaha
Awesome.
Tonging? Does this involve flip-flops?
Wow...Amazing
I love ur trombone! Mines King 2 :) but im like not even a 900th of ur skilll Xd

I think his horn is a Bach with a king counterweight :). Kings are nice though, I play a lot of a jazz on a King 3b myself ^_^
It is. ... and a 1 1/2 G mouthpiece
Wow... Just wow.
when did you start playing?
when I was 14.
Where can I buy the music for this version?
+Renate Thauland . Go to my website (see Google) and email your street address to me... I'll send you a copy of the trombone music,
Thank you! Thats wonderful!!
Mr. Raph, in what time signature did you play this in?
how does he do that?
A Bach #11 or #12 is pretty good.
do you use remingtons?
When you are running out of air puff your cheeks and use the muscles in your cheeks to blow out the air as you simultaneously breath in using your nostrils.
@vicpory
Play whatever you like on whatever you have, nothing is forbidden.
oh my gosh, thats crazy!
i know i thought he was goin to pass out
@deanguitars11
I have a video on "high notes" which might be helpful to you. A good teacher is usually the best way to go.
erm... the second part you dint show...
...
+alanraph i meant the 232323part
I don't understand your message
errr i dunno, i just know many educated trombone players say the same as me: KING!
@alanraph dang dude
Bach is only good if it is pre-Elkhart. Unfortunately, Conn-Selmer doesn't make Conn 88Hs anymore. Now they are just made by the Bach division and stamped Conn.

Adam Tran Nope, that's a Conn 88h CL with a King counterweight.

That's not a King.
It's just a King counterweight.
Just so you know.
He looks purple!!!
no reason not to. I usually play it on bass trombone.
I don't know what to say. I am at the level of old McDonald.
@MrTromboneLover
