I surely hope you get good comps from the engine supplier. that's a fairly large screwup on their part for sure, cant believe they are making you wait a week .
They put the heads on backwards. They messed up something as simple as putting the heads on. The tech is coming to pick up the engine, and deliver your refund in person, right?
I'd be asking for my refund in cash. If im paying $6k+ for a crate engine I'd expect that thing to be perfect. Find another shop to build you a 6.4 or just order a Hellcat.

I have a Nissan propane forklift that identifies as a Toyota diesel forklift , we’ve had many late discussions about the consequences of going down that road , that such a lifestyle choice won’t go well for them. But, they are committed and we’re born with these feelings, and the desire to cackle with the big boys outside.... We are currently suing our local LP gas company for refusing to fill their tank up with diesel fuel and calling us crazy. I tried to tell them how badly this will play out for them on Twitter....
Props to the shop, I somehow doubt they will fly a guy out to fix my engine if I buy one, but at least we know they are smart enough to know if there was ever an engine not to fuck up, this was it. You would think the people who built the engine. Would check things over before they send it out. If they made the mistake of putting the heads on the wrong sides of the engine. Who knows what else could be wrong. I would go through the whole thing down to the crank.
This reminds me of my Roadmaster 94... almost 600 ponies pulling a boat ala former sheriffs ghost car... this project is coming alone decently my dude. Can't wait for the final result.

Wow remind me to never use them. They, I guess never bench ran that one? I would demand they take it all apart and check everything! If they could screw up putting the heads on wrong did they put the main caps on the right side up and are the pistons facing the correct direction. 🤦♂️ quality control 👌

Been there and done that lol, I’m used to working on Chevy’s and I accidentally put the head gaskets on the wrong side of my hemi, I started adding coolant to my engine and it was coming out in between the head and the block. After double checking everything I pulled the heads and found that they were backwards, easy fix just disappointing lol

Return that motor and go to a different engine builder, I’d have zero faith in that. How many others things have they cocked up on, this is just the beginning you’ve not even put it in the car or ran power through it.
Just what I was thinking. They build a high hp engine and don't run it on the dyno or anything? Unless they are sponsoring this build, I'd get my money back and go with a well known reputable builder. Its basic common sense to test before shipping out to the customer.
I feel like they owe him lost revenue on the videos he would have made of the build. He'll be a week or more behind. It's probably in the neighborhood of the price of that engine. A week is a lot of money for someone that has a million subs.
It has transmission problems because it's a Ford. At least that has been my experience after driving Ford's for quite awhile. My last 3 trucks have been RAM's with zero problems.

Pretty sure most just send it out. Problem is they build so many, not exactly easy to start them all up, plus most people want BRAND new engines. It is a builder error for sure though.
With that application.. I would stay in close contact with the builder. Also check your cold valve lash and spring pressure (buy a gauge) write it all down and every 25 miles check the valve lash if you have aluminum rocker arms. Steel rocker rocker arms they are More streetable.. High maintenance is an understatement

Rip transfer case, rear axles, drive shafts... shit he’s probably gonna break the tie rods and steering shaft with 1400hp lol

Don't think it's common practice to test run engines...then again this is a problem that could of EASILY been avoided.
@@baileyhatfield4273 True, but this not some assembly line reman job from some wholesale place. This is a high dollar custom built race engine using non factory parts and should absolutely be tested for quality.
Not been daft but one it should have been tested before it was sent out and 2 how does a company building a 1400 bhp engine get the heads on the wrong side 🤯
