Brookfield Zoo Visit - Part2

I venture up to Illinois and visit the orangutans at Brookfield Zoo. Apologies for the high grain video. The baby girl orangutan was hidden very well by her mother. Lots of hours only to capture just a few minutes of usable footage but would do it all over again!

Baby and Mom are both beautiful. I cannot imagine that is a very good environment for either though. The constant screeching and echo of the birds must be damaging to their hearing!! It is to mine and I can control the volume! When they get into an enclosure where it's quiet I bet there's a transition period their ears go through. Poor things. These are intelligent satient beings and I see no enrichment for them, let alone - again - the loud screeching environment.
