i like the stories of who ever the humans beat, they reverse engineer the tech and even make it better

I don't know if any of these stories are actually being done by AI or not, but if they are, this one is farther advanced than most of the other ones I'm encountering.
The big ones, like Alexa, Siri, etc, all seem to be rather dense when you try to converse with them.
My most positive interaction with them so far was discovering that Alexa knows a lot of Chuck Norris jokes.
Otherwise, I'm not particularly impressed.
Of course, I've been an avid science fiction reader for over 65 years.
I might just be expecting too much, too soon.
Steve - perhaps two generations from now "A I art" will challenge our willingness to accept information in recorded form.
The "A I art" will be indistinguisable from actual photography, perhaps even inditinguisable from live feed with enought high speed processing.
