I would have to disagree with Rev. Hogg's interpretation/understanding of verse 2. There are plenty of examples through the NT that either explicitly state or imply that everyone's actions in life (aka, living faithfully or not) will affect their salvation. See my video "Scriptures Christians Ignore: Faith/Grace Alone." In that video I read through about 48 NT passages which I believe support the above statement with some occasional comments. In the video description I list out every passage and whether I think it's explicit or implicit in the text. If you don't want to listen to my voice, you can look up the passages on your own from the list. At the end of the video I very briefly describe how I synchronize those scriptures with the "saved by grace" scriptures. In my opinion Rev. Hogg is reversing/rejecting Paul's statement, similar to how Calvinists reverse biblical statements of God's love/election and whether people obey God. For example, "people obey God because they are loved/elected/saved," versus "People are loved/elected/saved because they obey God." I believe the latter has far more support from the scripture. I would clarify, however, that I don't think it is ONLY obedience that "saves" people. It is a combination of grace and obedience. This is why there is going to be a judgment day. If our actions have nothing to do with salvation, then what is the point of having a judgement day? What is it that will be judged? A common counter argument I hear is that only the unbelievers are "judged," however, I see no such distinction/statement in the NT. Another aspect of NT writings that is strange if "true Christians will never fall away" is that Christians are encouraged (or more like demanded) to "endure" or "remain faithful/obedient" and avoid sin unto the end (death or judgement day). Why do the apostles feel the need to remind people to not sin if the "truly saved" people will do this sort of by default, as he states in the video? See also Hebrews 6:4-6, where the writer seems (to me) to believe that people can experience the holy spirit and still fall away.
The Holy Spirit only teaches truth. Conviction of sin is because you are disagreeing with God. Baptism the act itself does not save you. But if when you are baptized, you have been truly forgiven ,and are risen with Christ. With-He was raised from the dead, we can't be raised with HIM, His ressurection , God's power in us without being forgiven. Not by old testament blood of goats and bulls , but with Christ's own blood. The blood of Ables sacrifice made it an acceptable offering to God. Without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. O.T. way under the law was good for O.T. times. New Testament times changed not only the high priesthood from Levites to Judah, but changed to the Blood of the Lamb, for REMISSION of sin. Now, there is no more offering for sin. Heb 10: 14-21. And having an highpriest over the house of God;. Only Jesus as highpriest makes faith real and shown by my works, says James.

Or some other sources? Im sure there must be some writing of the ppl who actually were a part of the 500.
Thank you for a great video. But I dont understand why it matters so much if Jesus raised from the dead or not. Like it’s about the ideas, right? Why should we stop bejaving well just because he did not rise from the dead?
