I'm the developer of Arrogue. Thank you for playing my game and for this valuable feedback! I'm really proud that you played it because you made me discover Peglin and that's the game that inspired me to make Arrogue! Like you said it is a very early demo, I have some great ideas for the future and the early access release. (For people that want to try it: a new free demo update has been done today with a tutorial, a way to change game speed and more)
Problem with this game is monster always attack each turn, and there is no way of preventing or even reduce the chip damage, you pretty much need to sink most your gold in post battle healing
I tried the demo after seeing this and felt the same way. There's no easy to access healing outside of platform destruction, and monsters ramp up hard not even halfway down the map. I felt like every single fight was stacked against me, because there's only so fast you can shoot arrows and take down structures.
That's what people who played Peglin said, and well... that didn't stop peglin. So I don't think that's really so much of an issue. Plus, as Olexa said: you have a *lot* of money.
@@shirothefish9688 peglin have a very interesting mechanic if you even played it, most of the enemies only attack when they are next to you, unless they couldn't move, the few enemies can attack from afar have minimal damage, for example the bat, only does one damage, or the spider, only attack once over 2 turns or so. With peglin, as long as you can kill them fast enough to keep monster moving, which normally you have like 5 turns before first enemy reach you, what you takes from range damage is minimal With this game, all monsters attack from first turn, dealing 2 to 5 damage per enemies, and with the intentionally structures blocking projectiles, it's extremely common where you take 7 to 10 damages per turn while you need 3 to 4 turns to kill them
Angry Birds is a Crush the Castle clone so the birds are catapult rocks not arrows. This game is more arrow behavior then catapult behavior but I think it is still in the Crush the Castle genre; although one of the platform configurations looked like it wanted you to lob an attack from above catapult style...
Oh, this is a cute twist on a nice game, I like i- > rescue a child, pluck a bomb arrow out of his back, dress him up like a maid Ah, it's one of those games
Could be good, but things need to happen way faster, especially the character moving around the village and the platforms moving toward you one group at a time. Also the events being "do you want thing?" *hits object with tool* is kinda lame
I personally think being able to heal after every encounter makes the damage you take in fights kinda irelevant. I think removing the high dmg spikes from like 8 to suddenly 25 would also be nice, instead of such high jump maybe up it from 8 to 12 or something and remove the healing after every combat. This would lead to "slower" deaths and give may more inportance to he bonfire healing
Have you ever played In Celebration of Violence? It's A fairly unique topdown roguelike that fell under the radar imo. It's incredibly hard. Some of the slowest weapon swings, but there's A flow to it. At least, for some fights. It should be fairly cheap by now, I'd think. You might like it, even if just in your free time.
I thought this was a great demo. It might even help me get over Meme Madness that Olexa got me hooked on. Cannot get passed the last freaking boss!>!>!>!
I won't lie, as generic as it's gotten, I would've loved this way more in the balatro template than the pegglin template but I think that's midly because I was expecting physics based madness like in angry birds in a rougelike setting
@@CmdrCorn no I mean in a sense where instead of constant back fourth battles until you win or lose it turns into a limited arrows per match where you have to kill all of the guys before you run out

Tyler, I don't mean this negatively, but this is the first time I ever felt like your gameplay experience would be better then mine. The game looks jank, empty and miserable, if I tried playing it on my own, would NOT enjoyed it. But your commentary is, as mostly always, pleasant and nice

What an amazingly cute game. I'll be adding to wish-list immediately
Hey dev. I like what you've done so far.
It's weird to me that the stuff can reach the end with no consequence.
NGL, the game's name almost reads like "eroge" so I thought we've finally hit the end and went to "eroguelikes".😅
Is there a reason to say "no" to a villager? And from whence doth the fish came?

We're living through a roguelike renaissance.

You realize that something needs to die first, before it can come back? Roguelites are an evergreen concept tbh.
If this is the renaissance then I can’t wait to see what happens in the Industrial Revolution (hopefully not irl climate change)

Found a random kid, went window shopping with the arrows lodged in his back, and then Maid in Abyss'd him.... Damn.

platforms speak for themselves, black is explosive, red is healing, green is poison, and blue is shield gain
This game definitely needs collission physics and damage in addition to the net physics...

This sounds so fun what?
I think one of the reasons I can never have enough roguelikes, is because I grew up with arcade games... the original roguelikes.
....that is very Peglin-like. It kind of looks like Peglin mixed with Kingdom Two Crowns, with the artstyle.
