Yuuuuuummmmmmm! Once again, everything looked SO good! There's just something comforting and fulfilling about eggs and rice, especially in the morning. Match it up with some good tocino, and your day can't help but go right. I've never tried milkfish, but this video reminded me that I have some stowed away in the deep freezer. I bought it at a tiny Asian grocery a couple of towns over. Now I'll have to dig it out, and cook it up!
Wooo hoo! Do it MsKestrela! It’s such a unique fish- I love it 🤤 Eggs and rice = comfort food. You’re so right. *Really enjoyed this one, guys!* Loved the modern rendition followed by traditional and of course a Filipino food tour isn’t complete without halo halo! *never ordering bao* - Ha! I’m the same with French toast. Partly because there’s a plethora of American breakfast options but I too am usually disappointed. Not that it’s ever bad but good French toast is easy to make at home so unless a cafe claims it’s their must-try house specialty or it’s like the only cool thing on a very limited menu, I pass. 😀 *Filipino cuisine* is delicious and hearty but I rarely partake. Need to fix that!
Hi Tosh! Thanks for watching and we’re glad you enjoyed this one mate. I get why you don’t go there with French toast! And totally agree! Are there a lot of Filipino restaurants where you are?
Lots of Filipino options indeed but we’re all still stuck on the big 3 Asian cuisines - Japanese, Chinese and Thai. Those are always the preferred choices when going out or delivery. Then Vietnamese and sometimes Korean. Filipino gets left out. Check this. My friend’s Filipino mother cooked a huge spread for me (kinda boodle fight on plates and utensils) but she always wants to go out for sushi or donburi. 😂

The adobo has coconut milk. I understand why it has that creamy color. Almost everyfod with coconut tastes so much better. You should learn how to cook coconut milk cause if you cook it for too long it will turn into oil. Still taste good but it will upset your stomach.
Hapunan are rocking the fusion dishes and a huge thankyou to the lovely Man who hosted you guys!! I will have whatever Thomas was eating thanks, that had me salivating coconut rice and shrimp paste spoke my language. Miss teenager says Bao Buns "all day son" yup they looked Holey Moley worthy. Im all about Asian breakfast when travelling, happily pass on a full English for rice and sides. That Ube shake drool worthy and dessert for lunch heck yes yes for me. Ive had Halo Halo twice here in Melbourne regret both was a dissapointment but yours looked great. Not a huge fan of Filipino food BUT lve never been there so prob have not given it a fair chance to impress me. Thanks once again for the vid. The B roll is almost as good as the food. 👍
Aldrin is a champ! His food is amazing- bet you would love it BBB. I love the desserts in the Philippines- they get it so right.
I remember as a kid Grandma would sometimes just make white rice, fry an egg and drizzle it with soy sauce for dinner- it was amazing! Hope you enjoy that milkfish! Thanks for watching and commenting on this one 😘 Cheers, Sheena

Tocino (Toe-see-no) not tochino 😅
Omg Alcova Travels I’m just laughing at how we’ve been pronouncing tocino as you would in Italian and no one corrected us! Not even in the Philippines 🤣🤣🤣 Maybe they were all too polite. Thank you for setting us straight! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
@@ChasingaPlate 🤣 It’s fine my husband and I catch it a lot with RUclips foodie travelers and I’m surprised too that no one, especially in the Philippines would correct anyone sharing our culture food. I mean, I would love to be corrected if i mispronounced how to say words in other languages as well. It happens to me too hahaha! When we come across you tubers sharing Filipino foods while in the Philippines I’m always yelling at the tv hahaha!! Most times these you tubers has a tour guide or friends who still doesn’t say anything. 🤣🤣 Andrew Zimmern pronounces calamansi as “calamansa.” 😪😅 It’s all chuckles for me and the hubby.. But thanks for sharing the deliciousness of my culture’s food.. thinking of it makes me want to cook some of that up for lunch. 😋🤣 Always have amazing and safe travels!!!!

*Really enjoyed this one, guys!*
Loved the modern rendition followed by traditional and of course a Filipino food tour isn’t complete without halo halo!
*Filipino cuisine* is delicious and hearty but I rarely partake.

So glad you enjoyed it 😄 Just re-watched it- no we didn’t mix it up. Hapunan’s adobo isn’t heavy on soy like it is traditionally so that’s why it’s a bit confusing! And their kare kare gets the darker colour from anatto. Thanks mate. Cheers,
