I am trying to upgrade my inspiron 5100 hard drive from 500gb my laptop doesn't recognize my old HD so I will replace New 500GB SSD
I have received the new hard drive, but the pins do not protrude out of the back of the drive case. So, when i slide the hd into the slot it doesn't connect. The old 500gb HD connected fine since the pins did stick out of the case. Is there some kind of adapter I should be using? thanks for any help. my bios is A30.
