Thanks so much, I had to tighten the screws on the speedo of my DT 250 and was in a misery as how to do this task. Following this video and and anther one made me brave. After a few hours of breaking sweat it came apart the screws got tighten with thread lock the lens was cleaned and placed back. However that was not the end the Rev counter lens was now looking out of place, so that had be done and off course did take longer . so Thanks again
Thanks Halley, I have done a couple more sets since this video, pretty much the same method, no real problems. I am told by an expert his would be a lot better; i would hope so as his charge was about £350. As the saying goes " you pay your money and you takes your choice" hope all goes well for you.
A great tip to cure fogged up lenses; forget any advertising for fixes. one jar of Mother’s aluminum and mag polish and you’ll fix dozens of bikes. It’s remarkably better than products designed for the purpose. Fixes face shields, fairing scratches, watch bezels, and more. The perfectly micro sized particulate is a magic thing.
That was well done. I'm going to tackle my Tac and Speedo on my 1975 Honda CB 360t bike. No tears or any problem other than fading. Where did you get your panels from? I can't find a source. I wish I could just send them to you and pay you to fix them but that's asking too much. I'm in Oklahoma. Anyway, just found your channel and going to watch the rest of your content. I know this is an older post but wanted to tell you that it was very well presented and easy understand. Thanks
Greetings Paul, thank you for the video. I'm trying to get the stainless ring off a speedo and tach from a 1976 DT250. I'm having a ridiculous time getting it loose..... What's the trick?
Hi Matthew, no trick unfortunately, just a jubilee clip to give the screwdriver something to work against. Smallish blade screwdriver to get between the ring and the body of the instrument. Other people may have a better way / equipment to do the job of course; think at the time I did price having it done and it was close to £400. As I said in the video small increments at a time worked for me. Hope it works out for you 👍
I have an XS400 where the tachometer indicator plate has separated off its backing and is freely floating inside. The needle tip is broken off too. Not sure if it's still in there and could be glued back in place or if I'd have to find a new needle. But for obvious reasons I'm here checking out how you fixed it. Did you duplicate the indicator markings in Adobe Illustrator?
Hi there, sorry I can't recall the vendor at the moment, I did purchase via Ebay however, a UK based supplier. If I can find the invoice for the overlays I will let you know. Thanks again for looking in, regards Paul

Hi, the 'overlays' were purchased via eBay, excellent quality. Hope your restoration work goes well. 👍
Why didn't you put the two little lenses in after you put the sticker on?
It would've given a much better finish.
Not sure what you mean, can you send me some images of the one you have done so I can see
Be careful when prising the needle off. I did that and it flew across the room and broke. 😢
