- Have you ever wondered why your 100cc scooter gives less mileage than your 100cc manual transmission bike? Think about it where a 100cc scooter returns mileage near 40-50 Kmpl, an average 100cc motorcycle provides mileage over 60 Kmpl. The answer to this question lies in the transmission used where the scooters use automatic CVT transmission, while motorcycles use a proper 4 or 5 speed manual transmission.

The basic reason lies in the working on both the gears. In the manual transmission, the user selects the gear in which the bike runs, so the engine speed of the bike is in the hands of the rider. In case of a CVT transmission, the engine speed is always constant and the rider has nothing to control.

CVT transmission are more efficient than manual but chain drive is more efficient than belt drive.
Bike ke tires bade h lekin bade tires ka moment of inertia bhi zyada hota .
Scooter bike k mukable mileage Kam deti sirf uske drag coefficient zyada hone ki wajah se .

Ekdam sahi kaha, only belt drive & centrifugal clutch k wajah se gearless scooters kam mileage deti hai same cc bikes k mukabale.

You are wrong. CVT is not more efficient than manual transmission. Just a simple google search will tell you. Manual transmission is far more superior.

City mein 65-70 Kmpl
Highway mein 70-75 KMPL
Sometimes in Highway it crosses 75+

Auto gear scooters stand for storage and convenience/easy riding and Bike stands for all other things. I love riding geared vehicles where the driver has more control. Both are good on their own way, as per what user wants.

Meri suzuki access 125 BS4 1 litre petrol me MRF zapper tyres ke saath 60 ka average de deta hai. Maxxis ke bade grip ke pichhle tyre ke sath 52-54 ka average de rha hai. Nayi gaadi 92 km per hour ki maximum speed de deti hai

I have the new TVS Apache RTR 160 2V BS6 . I am getting milage of 38kmpl. I checked it many times and variable speeds and filled from many petrol pumps. But I am getting same milage of 38kmpl. What is the sollution please tell..
Sir I am having passion pro bike which gives me average of 55km/litre in city and on highway it gives around 60 to 65km/litre and again I have activa 5g which gives a average of 30km/litre in city and on higway it gives average of 40km/litre and I have splender also which gives average of 62km/litre. So I think bike is best if we need more average.
Aging of bike also doesn't make more difference in well maintained bike
In case of scooters mileage is significantly reduced as vehicle starts to age
