In my family this man was as popular as Frank Sinatra and Elvis. Luckily, for me I got to work with him when I was at SiriusXM and board op'ing The Wiseguy Show, When I told my family that I was working with Uncle Floyd, you could imagine their joy and excitement. He was and still is such a LEGEND. After knowing him for a few weeks I asked him for a favor and he gladly obliged...I asked him to sing the "Wild West City" TV commercial song...and he did it without batting an eye. I love this man.
Uncle Floyd rocks.. used to pick up the station 68.. I lived on Long Island.. South shore in Suffolk county.. come in clear as a bell laugh my ass off.
I love Uncle Floyd I seen him so many times throughout the 80s I had a privilege of hanging out with him a few times at a small restaurant where he plays in New Jersey good time good time always with him
Well route 17 is still a nightmare. The pizza man along with half of the garden state don’t speak English. The parkway man now takes over two dollars from your hand. The factory smoke still makes you choke. I’m blessed to be living it up and beautiful Sussex county. Traffic up here is a lot thicker with the influx of transplants from other areas. But Vernon and Wantage is still beautiful. The best part of NJ as far as I’m concerned.
Many great memories of watching the show on Channel 23 or 29 in Philly during the ‘80s. It made my father laugh so hard sometimes and he was not always the happiest of guys at times. Thanks for laughs Floyd!
Oh my God, this brings back so many memories. When I was younger, my mom had a CD of uncle Floyd songs and we would listen to it on the way to school every day.
Saw him perform many times when he did his annual visit to East Brunswick to perform at the Camp Daisy Fair. Which was the big annual fundraiser for the Camp Daisy program which was a summer camp program for handicapped and underprivileged kids. He would always headline the Saturday night entertainment block.
Thank you for posting this. Floyd really pulled laughter out of the group at my apt. when we watched him. Saw him live at The Bottom Line in Manhattan NYC. OOGIE had way too many colorful words.
I remember commercials for the Capitol Theater that would run during "The Uncle Floyd Show" on channel 68. ("JOHN SCHER PRESENTS! AT THE CAPITOL THEATER!")
What a hoot! Does anyone know who the headliner was that night? Saw lots of shows at the Cap in the late 70s/early 80s, but don’t remember Uncle Floyd as an opener at any of them. He did a show in the campus pub at NJIT circa 1983/4 - hilarious stuff!
So glad some of these performers were recorded and are being shared for all to enjoy.

I was in Port Jeff and had to drag our tiny b&w to one specific corner of the kitchen and put the rabbit ears out two different windows.😂
Uncle Floyd is an icon and NJ treasure.

Hunterdon County
@@rc6147Warren County is the best county in Northern NJ
Southern Somerset county by the Raitan where every year it floods. I wouldn't live anywhere else.
I'm also a Sussex County head. Best county by far
