    Cool banjo. If knots yoke out holes in the bridge, use little beads. Might be a good idea to start out that way to avoid unpleasant surprises down the road… or maybe tiny little metal ferrules in the bridge, if they exist lol.

    I love the streamlined look of that banjo. Beautiful! How do you get such a nice fit of the neck to the body?

      Practice. It’s very difficult. The basic compound curves are plotted by putting the neck up to the body and scribing, registering against the gourd. Once those cuts are achieved the inside is dug out and final fit is worked down by continually refitting into the gourd and taking off at points of contact. It’s necessary to accommodate the multidirectional curves of the gourd body, as well as the depth of the gourd neck. It takes longer to make this joint than it does to make the entire rest of the neck. The hardest part is preventing tear-out because the wood is sometimes very thin at the ends.
