I think its actually Befehlswagen, or "Command vehicle". Because "panzer" doesn't mean "tank" it means "armor". The Panzer 4 is actually the Panzerkampfwagen 4, or "Armored Combat Vehicle" 4.
"Panzer" can be translated in both ways. The best translation for armor would be "Panzerung". A normal tank is usually called a "Panzer" in German. But your translation for "Panzerkampfwagen" is correct too.

Really Nichlas? I remember playing a WWII game (can't remember if it was cod or moh) and it had japanese flags everywhere, it made the game really stood out and it gave that sense of patriotism on the part of the japanese troops. It's about logic, it's like playing a game where soldiers wear casual clothing instead of their proper uniforms.

To be fair, both those are very important in the game. Like the armor penetration mechanic (units don't have health, those red bars are morale. If something pens, it's dead, at least from what I've seen), where you might need to hit from the side or the back to kill a target. I also suspect Diplex's 'use' of the cover system in the game might be why he appears to have taken so many more losses...
I suspect with more players in a match, your preference will shine on. This one seems a little large to be as densely populated as a hedge by hedge kind of fight would need
I had a Great Great Uncle who was in a recon unit in the Battle of Normandy he got to be the Company Radioman after the last one got shot he said he volunteered for it because he wanted to ride in the Jeep

Hey there! An extra key would be welcome! I am a huge Wargame fan, was sorely disappointed in Company of Heroes 2, and got into Men of War Assault Squad 2 at the tail end of it's multiplayer life. I would appreciate it! Great German, by the way.
I'm happy to see Wargame get a WWII version and RUSE come back with some depth, but WHY Normandy? It has been done to death in WWII games, give us ANY other theatre. WWII games are so rare these days that when one comes along it should explore something that hasn't really been done. I'm just baffled that they've settled on Normandy.
I believe from my reading of it they did it because the Normandy campaign was well documented, so they could reproduce a lot of maps from the real aerial photographs that were taken and give "accurateish" depictions of the units and strengths of the divisions involved.. also going by the War-game series I see a good few DLCs and possible sequels that will expand it.
Could be because there plenty of nations were part of it? For example the Canadian division (while in RUSE Canada was not an option). If you look at CoH2. Only Wehrmacht and USSR gets boring quite fast. Thats why i actually loved RUSE. Italy and France are hardly getting any attention when it comes to WW2. Besides i love that you are allowed to play the nation you want. Give me 1 modern shooter ,wich takes place in WW2, and you are allowed to bei either German or Japanese.

I enjoyed how you mentioned not just Italian troops being involved in Europe but also Hungary and Romania. Though they contributed more to the Eastern Front there were some units in the Western Front. You seem a person well-versed in historical knowledge. Though by 1944 Italy had already divided into the liberated South and Italian Social Republic North.
Love how you pronounce german words.. Maybe because im a kraut. I bought this game after i watched this video and.. I LOVE IT. It feels like Sudden Strike 2 combined with Blitzkrieg. So there is HUGE potential. I also worked out some kind of tactics. Like a "Kesselfalle" (boiler-trap?), means pulling back units, in hope that the enemy pushes. Then let him get inside your territory and sorround em. Worked out well against players, the AI is way to passive until "Medium" but then they are like OP.

Americans usually pronounce every “r” in a word, while the British tend to only pronounce the “r” when it’s the first letter of a word. This is likely influenced by other languages spoken near Britain such French which also does not always pronounce the "r" letter towards the end of a word.
I'd absolutely love to get my hands on this game, as a huge Wargame and RUSE fan who's been following this game since its announcement, it'd mean the world to me to get a hold of it.
FYI, there are no health bars for vehicles. Any penetration is a kill. The damage model is far from arcade. Infantry have health in the amount of soldiers, but they do not reinforce. The "health" bar is morale. That's how you get enemies to surrender. Encirciling them, so that the front line all around them is your color, will prevent their morale from recovering and allow you to cause a surrender.
Bef. Means Befehl which translates as command or obey. So the BEF. PANZER IV is a command tank that helps boost morale and keep order and the tanks themselves usually had better radios.
I would like a key, Diplex! Also, I kinda see you fitting as an ambassador for this game or for Paradox interactive, as you both focus on strategy games! Just like KrebsCoho used to do for Company of Heroes. He was the one that increased my dedication to the game, and I am quite sure that you could do the same with Steel Division in the future!
You need to look more carefully while choosing units. The Bef. Panzer IV is a command tank, which gives an AoE buff to units around it and buffs morale when they are encircled by the enemy. That's why it also has less availability. The star on the corner of the unit card will identify a command unit. The letter on the unit(A, B, C) denotes when you can call in the units. You don't lose access to a previous phase when you advance into the next. Ammunition trucks are also available in the support tab. The game doesn't model fuel anymore like wargame, and there are no repairs or reinforcements. Infantry can't get replacements on the field, and tanks instantly die when penetrated.

This seems really interesting. You can push the front evenly, or you can push harder and try to surround them. And as we saw, when units get stuck behind enemy lines and can't fall back, they surrender. So you could either choose staying power, mobility, a varied mix of these. There are so many possibility. I'm in love with this already! Because in most other games - actually in all games I can think off - it doesn't work this way. There is technically no "getting stuck behind enemy lines". The unit just dies, instead of surrendering.
This game looks more in the vein of Codename: Panzers. Those circular dots around the vehicle tells how long the firing range is I believe, plus health bars on units.
Haven't finished watching so you might notice sooner, but with that much artillery you definitely want a few munition support units. Nice and informative video though. :) Edit: I noticed you didn't see the munition support things. They're there though. And if you like the Bf 109's, you're gonna LOVE the henschell 219's. They have 20mm autocannons and a 75mm cannon for AT strafing runs. Unlike the Bf 109's, they can make several passes before retreating.
Not bad considering its your first time. Look forward to more game. Also for ammo, there still be units in support that can resupply others. I did see an unit called opel-blitz mun. under support.
The damage model is completely different - this uses a penetration chance model with long-term damage effects on the vehicles, not hitpoints ala Wargame. This means even a very powerful unit can potentially be one-shot, or inversely survive indefinitely based on the tactical circumstances. The little bar is stress i.e. morale, not damage.

Hey Blitz, just an FYI, you said at the start that its Developed by Paradox. This isn't the case. The game is developed by Eugen Systems, who made Wargame, they have just switched from Focus Interactive to Paradox for their publisher.

I believe the difference between the Panzer. IV and Panzer. IV BEF is that the BEF stands for something like "Befehlswagen" which means command vehicle. I could be wrong though.

The red bar on the units is a stress meter not a health bar so the more stress a unit has the worse it performs if the bar gets full the unit will be pinnedand can not return fire

I hate that they don't use Nazi flags in any game that has germany as playable anymore, kills the immersion.

I saw a nazi flag in the battlegroup selection window (Demo version). I also believe there are swastica's on some planes.

So far, the "Paradox twist" on the wargame formula looks like its going to be dozens of paid DLC

Cover and flanking is definitely in this game. Diplex is new to it so he doesn't understand the mechanics entirely yet.

You can give orders to the units during deploy phase. You stack them (multiple orders) while holding shift.
From what it looks like, your deck of units is more of a full mechanized force, minus the massive amounts of arty and AT guns
Bef. Means Befehl which translates as command or obey. So the BEF. PANZER IV is a command tank that helps boost morale and keep order and the tanks themselves usually had better radios.
In the support section there was an opel blitz with ammunition.
This kind of reminds me of the old Axis and Allies video game. Man what I wouldn't do to get this game.
It is not health-bars, it is stress-bars. the stress will go up if fired upon and the unit might break if it reaches max.

I would like a key, Diplex! Also, I kinda see you fitting as an ambassador for this game or for Paradox interactive, as you both focus on strategy games! Just like KrebsCoho used to do for Company of Heroes. He was the one that increased my dedication to the game, and I am quite sure that you could do the same with Steel Division in the future!
This game is so dope. I like how new games are going back to the world wars.
You need to look more carefully while choosing units. The Bef. Panzer IV is a command tank, which gives an AoE buff to units around it and buffs morale when they are encircled by the enemy. That's why it also has less availability. The star on the corner of the unit card will identify a command unit. The letter on the unit(A, B, C) denotes when you can call in the units. You don't lose access to a previous phase when you advance into the next.
Ammunition trucks are also available in the support tab. The game doesn't model fuel anymore like wargame, and there are no repairs or reinforcements. Infantry can't get replacements on the field, and tanks instantly die when penetrated.
i would like a key... you really got me into men of war and strategic games and this just looks like another good one. love your vids watch them like everyday. keep on going.

This seems really interesting. You can push the front evenly, or you can push harder and try to surround them. And as we saw, when units get stuck behind enemy lines and can't fall back, they surrender. So you could either choose staying power, mobility, a varied mix of these. There are so many possibility. I'm in love with this already! Because in most other games - actually in all games I can think off - it doesn't work this way. There is technically no "getting stuck behind enemy lines". The unit just dies, instead of surrendering.

This game looks more in the vein of Codename: Panzers. Those circular dots around the vehicle tells how long the firing range is I believe, plus health bars on units.
As someone who speaks German, I think it sounds extremely funny when you speak German. :D

Haven't finished watching so you might notice sooner, but with that much artillery you definitely want a few munition support units. Nice and informative video though. :)
Edit: I noticed you didn't see the munition support things. They're there though.
And if you like the Bf 109's, you're gonna LOVE the henschell 219's. They have 20mm autocannons and a 75mm cannon for AT strafing runs. Unlike the Bf 109's, they can make several passes before retreating.

I'm excited for this game, I loved Wargame. I watched their first released gameplay on Paradox Interactive. Very nice.
The damage model is completely different - this uses a penetration chance model with long-term damage effects on the vehicles, not hitpoints ala Wargame. This means even a very powerful unit can potentially be one-shot, or inversely survive indefinitely based on the tactical circumstances. The little bar is stress i.e. morale, not damage.

To supply your units you need supply convoys in the SUP. Your units wont be resupply by themselves.

Hey Blitz, just an FYI, you said at the start that its Developed by Paradox. This isn't the case. The game is developed by Eugen Systems, who made Wargame, they have just switched from Focus Interactive to Paradox for their publisher.
Just FYI, Diplex, Steel Division is actually being developed by Eugen, the same poeple who made Wargame and Ruse. Paradox is the publisher.

12:24 it's actually the complete opposite...recon units have little to no influence on the front line because it would allow the enemy to know that a recon unit is nearby
I believe the difference between the Panzer. IV and Panzer. IV BEF is that the BEF stands for something like "Befehlswagen" which means command vehicle. I could be wrong though.
In the options, you can turn the red/blue off! :)
This game looks absolutely amazing, I've loved World War II and games about WWII since I could remember and this definitely looks like one of those games I would play for hours non-stop. It would be awesome if you were to do a key giveaway, thanks!

This game style translates so much better to ww2
The red bar on the units is a stress meter not a health bar so the more stress a unit has the worse it performs if the bar gets full the unit will be pinnedand can not return fire
Diplex, these red bars over the units are not their health bars but their stress bars, Which is visualizing their stress level
