    If this was a CCS charging car they would sell more

    To further confuse the "generations" discussion, Nissan call the original Leaf ZE0 (Zero Emissions zero) and they call the 2017 revision ZE1 (Zero Emissions One), so the first car was Leaf.0, and the revision is Leaf.1!

    If gen 1 was realeased 2010, what year was gen 2 with updated mechanical? Gen 3 with updated exterior was i think 2017.

      If it's a brand new Nissan Leaf and you keep the charge between 20% and 80%, don't rapid charge it more than a couple of times a month (however charge the car to 100% 3 or 4 times a month on home charger) after 10 years, the battery will show 70% state of health - probably more. Based on 8K miles per year and sensible driving use.

    Isn't the issue with the Leaf charing times?

    Imagine if EVs had equivalent specific energy of ICE cars

    • @glennjgroves
      @glennjgroves 9 месяцев назад

      The same practical energy density? Given that something like 75% of the energy in an ICEV is wasted, and only about 15% of the energy in an EV is wasted, they do not need LITERALLY the same. Eventually I hope BEVs will be kind of close-ish in terms of range. BUT, it is cheaper to install a fast charger than a petrol station, I expect we will end up with more fast chargers than we used to have petrol stations. We don’t need quite the same range so to speak.
