Time to get back to the layout with some more work on the diesel yard - in particular some lights. I’m adding some floodlights to the diesel shed whilst trying not to cause any damage to the building… gently does it!
I’m really struggling to find some period workmen to go in the loco yard. It looks very deserted at the moment. I’m not too keen on these cheap Chinese figures which seem to be flooding the market! If you know of any good suppliers of figures please do let me know in the comments.
Let me know what you think of the floodlights!
Thanks for watching, Andy

I would love to be able to offer help and advice, but alas I can only sit back and watch in awe. 👏👏👏
Thanks very much for your kind words 😊
And thank you for the inspiration that you provide us with your fantastic video's!
Ah, thank you. Very kind 😊
Great layout! 😀
Thank you 😊
Nice job with the lights. Very good effect.😊
Thank you. I was worried I might mess the depot shed up!
@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt It's a fiddley business for sure. But looks great. 👍
lookout for the old Airfix figures, the detail was superb. Normally in grey although some were produced in a pale yellow. love your layout
Brilliant. Thanks very much 👍
Hi Andy, another lovely job, the shed lights look great, i shall keep that in mind as I have the same shed in N Gauge, love the brazier too, it looked really effective especially with the bits of wood.
Not sure about the figures, there will probably be plenty that are unpainted if you want to bulk buy but that will take loads of time to be painted. I agree the Chinese figures aren’t good and N Gauge they are out of scale, so again not sure with 00.
Good luck with the new wall, looking forward to seeing the difference when it’s in.
Cheers Andy, John
Thanks John. Not sure my painting skills are that good! Hoping to go to the festival at Doncaster next weekend so might be able to pick some figures up from there. Take care, Andy 👍
Lights look great. Cheers Peter.
Thanks Peter. Cheers, Andy 👍
Modelu are great for figures and other fine scale parts. Great layout and interesting channel.
Thanks very much for that. I will have a look at Modelu 👍
Bachmann scenecraft do human figures for most era,s. 👍
Brilliant. Thank you. Someone else suggested Bachmann as well. I’m obviously not looking hard enough!! 👍
MODELU matey best figures out there
Brilliant. I’ll check them out. Cheers, Andy 👍
Looking good Andy
Agree with others that Modelu will have what you want. Not cheap but worth it, especially for OO (I model in N)
Brian
Cheers Brian. I will have a look. Would rather pay a bit more for them to be realistic. Take care, Andy 👍
Hi Andy have a look at dapol workmen figures all unpainted but they include driver fireman and some porters as well have used them on my layout and unless you want to pay mega bucks they look quite respectable and they fit the loco cabs , I think there's about thirty in all for a tenner it's maybe worth a try to see what you think regards ken ps let us know how you got on with you're locos oh and by the way you can cut them about to move the arms and some of the legs and cut some of the tools off to make different figures hope this is of some help
That’s great, thank you. I will have a look. I’ll be sure to update when I get the locos sorted 👍
I have two Hornby Maglite coach strips in the two track Bachmann resin depot. Quite effective really. Looks good mind on the outside.
What a great idea. Cheers, Andy 👍
Looks bob on 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Hi great video very interesting i have subscribed
Thanks very much 👍
Bachman Scenecraft or Springside Models for figures for the engine shed area.
Brilliant. Thank you. I’ve not heard of Springside Models 👍
Layout is looking great, always enjoy your video's. Re workmen for Yard, Bachmann do sets of 1960's ref 36-421. Re lighting, have you used or seen the range from Kyle's Lights? Cheers Steve.
That should be Kytes Lights.
Thanks very much. I’ll have a look. Yes, I’ve have some Kytes lights on the layout. Really good value 👍
i got my figures in orange overalls from noch lovely layout hope you dont mind have copied a few things
Thank you, I’ll check them out. I’ve taken most of my ideas from watching other layout videos! 👍
Looking pretty good. You could put a light in the under pass there behind the yard. Things seem to be coming together nicely. Any grandkids reactions to the upgrades?
Thanks. That might look good! No, more interested in horses and ponies!! 😆
@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt You could put a few horses in the pasture not to far from the main line. be a little nod towards the grand kids. You might be able to find 3d printable figures online. I'm in America so i only know of a few places here. Mainly from Model Railroader Magazine. Maybe a British Equivalent might have some obscure resources a Yankee like me don't have access to.
ModelU3d or Dart castings for figures.
Brilliant. Thank you 👍
