Good job GoPam on the flush and the video, entertaining as usual. I probably would have poured some of the new coolant into the system while the water pump cover was off - until it ran solid yellow (I think this was the color of your new coolant) - this would have flushed out some of the water. You waste a little coolant but it's cheap. This is not critical by any means. Also, you might have mentioned that the coolant needs to be taken to a proper disposal facility (usually your autoparts store). Drain dumping is not cool (ant). Also, NEVER leave coolant around uncovered - super deadly (and, sadly, tasty ) to all critters. Using gloves as you did is always a good idea on almost all scooter work - most chemicals are readily absorbed straight through your skin and end up in your liver as bad news. That scooter sure is clean :)
Very nice cool (ant) pun there legend. And good tip to help flush out more water. Ah yes, I forgot to mention proper disposal which is my plan. I poured it into the water jug to get rid of it. In fact you just reminded me I need to do that since that coolant jug is still sitting in my garage, tied up in a plastic bag. And haha!!! I know how filthy that scooter is. I was proud of myself for at LEAST cleaning up the corrode-deez!!!!
Update: autozone in SoCal won’t take old coolant they ONLY take old oil. But I was able to safely dispose of the coolant at a SAFE LA recycling center that takes e waste etc.
Very Nice Legs . Thanks for the video . If you took off the bottom panel , above the muffler , you could have pulled out the pump housing further , and the o ring replacement would have been easier . I learned from this video that you don't have to bleed the air out , like on the other Vespa's . Thanks . Vespa recommends doing this every 2 years to prevent rust issues . If you use American Antifreeze , 50-50 , like they recommend I think it can go much longer .
I’ll check out the bottom panel for the next flush. Yeah, I did this coolant flush 2 years later for that very reason. Flush every 2 years for a happy Vespa. Thanks for the tips!
@@VROOMGOPAM as some other viewers pointed out, o-ring seals should not be so hard to put in if u removed some of the other parts blocking ur way. The motorcycle is bolted down with so many bits n pieces, n for routine maintenance jobs should be made easier for us, not harder usually. May be useful to take many pictures of the things u wish to dismantle n place them in the order u took them out so u can easily assemble back later. My 2 cents 🤗🤗🤗
@@VROOMGOPAM @VROOM GOPAM hi gopam, I hope ur hand is so much better ya? 🤗 Btw, I finished my coolant flush after watching ur video. Tq for ur video post. Helped me out. Like u, I did not go n bleed my coolant valve as it was too deep internally. Instead, I followed ur example ..if u do not mind n I might be very wrong too, but may I just share with u 2 observations from my own experience n wat I read: 1. that maybe u might wish to monitor that u do not have any air bubbles for sure in ur coolant system as an air bubble will cause ur engine to seize up n really damage ur engine needing major repair bills. Thus, For me, i rode it n ran the engine hot n then opened the coolant reservoir tank n air bubbles n coolant came out. 2. If I'm not mistaken, when u detached only the water pump aka "Snail" n flushed it out with distilled water, u flushed Only Half of ur scooter plumbing system. If u see ur scooter plumbing system, it has more plumbing than just from the coolant reservoir tank down to the snail. I did wat others suggested which is to do wat u did, And then close the snail, top up with distilled water n run the engine to circulate the distilled water thru the entire plumbing system ( to remove old coolant) till the radiator fan kicks in. I did it 2x n then the fluids were clear. My 2 cents. 😉🤗🤗🤗

cool video. you did a good job. can I make a suggestion, though? do not get coolant anywhere near living plants. consider changing it farther away from your lawn next time. and, of course, keep animals away from it. keep the videos coming.
Thanks for this advice! I did not know how bad coolant was near living plants or that animals are drawn to it. I will be sure to watch out for the next coolant flush.
Awesome work GoPAM! I only have a 150 so don't have to manage coolant but watching you struggle with the blind access to the o-ring made me wonder how much simpler would it have been to just loosen the hose clamps and pull the housing cover off once drained? Possibly a better question for @scottTheLegendTaggart?
Hello, I did a radio twiz today and I handled it like you. But around 4:40, I didn't remove the plastic part, clean it and lubricate it. Do you think it will be a problem? Even the tire was a little worn. Do you think I should do it all over again? Google translate
Hi, not sure if the translation is correct? I think you said you didn't clean and lube the o-ring? Chances are it might be ok. But for safety, it would be best to make sure the o-ring is intact and doesn't need replacing. Hope that helps.
I used a Chest harness mount. I bought a GoPro aftermarket accessories kit from amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VYMG250/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just like oil there are many debates on which coolant to use. Always best to check your particular scooter’s manual. I like to use Maxima Coolanol which does not require adding water. Simple 😀 www.scooterwest.com/maxima-coolanol-ready-to-use-coolant-1-2-gallon-64-oz.html
Very cool I was wondering about the bleeding screw on this model 👍 just picked one up yesterday
Sweet!! Hope you enjoy your new to you GT200 - I simply love 'em
its good to see those channel lock pliers made in the usa
I'm sure happy to have them 😀
