I am gonna go with the C310 Silver Bullet. There is nothing sweeter than the sound of those Continentals and the sleekest of designs EVER! Love your videos!
Your a legend Jimmy. When can we see the T6? I’ve flown one, beautiful aircraft 👍👍👍🏴
Cameron is like pulling up with a moderate sports car, while the silver bullet is a candy apple red sports car with a great exhaust. Both are cool planes and great to have people saving these and keeping them in the air. Love the vids! Thanks!
HAHAHA, that's awesome!
@@therealjimmysworld get a beachcraft duke please
Finding the ground after takeoff isn't difficult. The difficult part is being able to reuse both the pilot and airplane without major repairs to either one after finding the ground!
I would always vote for the Silver Bullet, it is the pinnacle of general aviation at it's peak.
Great video. Years ago I was the flight engineer on a DC-10 that upon landing at LAX we heard a loud boom followed by ATC informing us of smoke coming from the right main gear. I told the captain that those were all brand new tires and brakes. After we were towed to the gate, we went outside to look over the right gear. One of those brand new tires had blown out completely. What happened was that the new brake on that tire had frozen which likely happened upon gear retraction. It was evident that the wheel had never turned upon landing so the rubber ground down immediately upon landing. The tire was perfectly round except for the area that made contact with the runway. That section was perfectly straight! Several hours later we were on the next leg of the journey with that airplane with a new brake and 4 new tires.
Scary. You could have retracted a burning tire. Wouldn’t be the first time that happened.
@@naughtiusmaximus830 we would have known if it happened on takeoff by either feeling or hearing it blow and the tower or other aircraft telling us they see smoke. When the gear are retracted the brakes are applied to stop the tires from rotating. We think that the brake which was brand new failed to release and stayed locked or “Frozen” to the wheel which prevented the wheel from turning upon landing.
@@Starsnu1 I used to think flight engineer was the crappy job on the flight deck but it’s actually the coolest one. Radio operator plus flight systems.
@@naughtiusmaximus830 It had frozen upon gear retraction.. it probably was fine on take off.
Good job training future pilots. This country needs them.
big time!
Thanks for sharing! Jimmey you the MAN! Don t prang your prop!
You got that right!
Tire go “ POP “ Jimmy changes pants . LOL 😂 at least you didn’t get hurt and no major damage to your hot rod .
lol....
Looks like you’re going to need touch up paint in a few spots
Good to see you turned it all around to this great appeal helping victims .. Well done Jim ..
Your achiles heel shows up again! Landing gear!
Always!
Happy Birthday, Airman, and thank you for your service to you, Jimmy and all other Airmen today!
$500 Tire🤯… Aviation isn’t a Poor Mans Industry…
Good Morning, Jimbo -
I love it when you take us flying.
Take care...
The joys of ownership, thankfully you were able to get it replaced quickly. I was hoping to see the upgrades in the Silver Bullet. Received my t-shirt this week, love it.
Been looking forward to another video. Love the content Jimmy
I’ve seen similar tire failure anomalies on fixed gear aircraft after being subjected to the heat of atmospheric reentry.
hahahaha
@Brandon Balloon - both NASA and the ESA spell it as “reentry” - without the hyphen, when referring to objects, vehicles, etc. once again entering the earth’s atmosphere after coming out of orbit.
@Brandy Balloon My apologies for the misunderstanding and taking it the wrong way. I do appreciate that you appreciated my humor 🙂. None of my friends do - they usually just roll their eyes at me....LOL
Congrats Jimmy on landing good with the bad tire.
Yup, the aviation community is great. I was relocating one of my planes from the UK to sw France in 2020 and the battery charging failed due to a bad connection. I had to land three times to refuel and beg for help to get the engine restarted. I went into a large professional hangar at Blois in central France where a team was working on a Twin Otter and they all dropped what they were doing and came out with a booster pack on wheels to see what this crazy pilot was up to. The last time a guy came out with his car and some jump leads which were so short he had to park the nose of his car under my airplane's propeller and carefully reverse it out after I'd jumped out of the cockpit and disconnected the leads with the plane's wheels chocked when I'd restarted the engine.
When peeling gap tape sometimes applying heat with a heat gun while peeling will soften the glue enough to release the tape without lifting the paint. Then you can clean off the remaining glue with the mineral spirits..
(Might be worth a try)
Many rc pylon racers and rc glider pilots use gap tape on their models.
Especially if it's new
I think you need to keep the world’s fastest single engine light airplane out of the hypersonic speed range. Lol! 😁
One thing that doesn't get mentioned is the work you do for our youth and other people! Thanks for all you do jimmy. Wheels Up!!!
Can i get a
(Clear prop!)
Congratulations on selling Gweedo! I am excited to hear that you are doing more airplane saving! I always hit like before the video starts because I am never disappointed. Cameron is super cool! The Silver bullet is a sporty family car, Cameron is a Ferrari, Lambo, Audi R8, or Corvette, Take your pick! I am getting excited about the cooler mornings
with light or no wind! My Ercoupe gets almost 100mph on 4.5gph. I agree with you Jimmy, the people at our airport are some of the nicest people I know! Great people at N FLA.
thanks for showing the wing icing. I always wondered what that was
Congrats on selling Guido! Excited for them and wish Guido luck in St. Louis o7
Jimmy- We love your stuff! We thought of a catchy phrase you may enjoy using.
"Give it the Juice and Turn it Loose! Can I get a, clleeeear prop!"
Give it try in one of your next videos!
🤟🏼 The Tipton Family!
Jimmy.... you are a Great influence !!!
you now have me yelling out... can i get a CLEAR PROP with every switch i flip that has a motor !!! 🤣
my SUV... my john deere tractor... even my blender !!!🤪🏁
he should send you a rebate check over that wheel replace for all that free promo and publicity you gave him at the end, it translates in to new future customers.
Yes , both planes are very nice... Cameron, might be the one- if the stock OEM mags are being used... But the 310 is just cool beyond words... I'd take the Sky King 310... BTW, be careful of applying external tape, if it vibrates rapidly, it can cause damage to the structure it is stuck to.... It is why we used aluminum (600 mph) tape on planes that had aerodynamic sealant (PS-870) in the gap laps, underneath the tape that needed more time to cure.... Aluminum tape won't flutter as easily as thin plastic tape...
Hey Jimmy, would you consider doing a ride in an icon A-5? Love to see it
That would be cool!
I fickin love that Lancair...
Hey Jimmy, it might be an idea to check the year of manufacture on that new tyre. I presume there is a marking as such on aviation tyres similar to those found on automotive ones.
Thank you
A heat gun or hair dryer would do wonders to loosen up the adhesive on that gap tape and keep the paint on the airplane.
Put a live cam feed on the gear. so you will know three up three down dance all around ☺️
Im glad you werent stuck
Good choice!
Im going with the 310 Silver bullet.
Cameron is the one. You got a flat tire! Well at lest you got help on your side from that nice man. It was nice of him to put on new set of tires for cameron. I like that plane it shud be in the air show that would be cool to see.😄
You need to save that Cessna 150 in the corner of the ramp. I used to own it and it was a great flyer.
Jimmy always enjoyment to watch one of your Videos 👍 and to see What Could Possibly Go Wrong 😂👌
Was it worth putting the tape on for a few extra mph given the damage it's done to the paintwork? I leave you with that question...
Hot and high no wayno on the tires.
Cameron!
How hilarious! We are based at HEG and was inbound when the NOTAM came up! Line guys are great! Would have liked to have met you for sure!
You should of Burned up the Dinos and took the crome eagle. Always reminds me of the old military Jets when I see you leaving the ground. 😁
Silver Bullet, Always👍👍, Says this Jimmy🤣
Your Schneerbart is looking great! ( Mustache)
Bummer
Great Job
Mid 70s Electric Car? I just bought 1975 Vanguard Citicar over on my channel st Glenn's Speed Shop. They were made in Sebring Florida. Can't wait to see what you bought.
6 miles from my house and I didn't even know it. Stop at Craig next time and give my Pitts some speed mods. 😂
Hi Jimmy's. I was in the hospital , for
long days ( i was on very bad shape) Ohhh God I miss watch your vídeos.
I very scared to day . I all the time thinking " I will die before have chance to see Jimmy " .
in my worst moments I just thinking about have chance to see you. They say in my delirious moments that I call your name. God bless you 🙏
I have a photo of a tire with a hole in it and the tube is sticking out in a small bubble, from a PA-28. It's hilarious. But, I landed an Aztec once with a bit too much toe brake on the left side, but I let off as soon as I heard it squealing. So no foul. Jimmy, every A&P ought to have one of those "What Could Possibly go Wrong" tee shirts. The Feds would love it when they came by for a compliance check.
$466 for a tube and tire seems high. It’s been a couple years since I’ve had to buy one. Guess they’ve went up also
Itemized it didn't seem that bad. The killer was the labor. $180 for 1.5 hours or 120/hour. Tube & tire were about that each. The good news is he was able to get it done and wasn't at some airport where nobody is there. No body, no bathrooms, nothing.
@@robertthomas5906 All in all though the labor was similar to auto dealer labor charges. I`m wondering what it would have cost if he had to do the brakes looking at an auto mobile witch runs at about $350 a wheel for just pads.
@@gunfisher4661 $350/wheel for pads? Man, I'm so glad I know how to do that myself. I also replace my own hubs and CV joints.
G'day Jimmy from NZ... the best tape to use is white silage tape super sticky and very strong m8... enjoy...
Oh Jimmy that hole in tyre not only is a hole in the tyre but in the wallet to !!! . Still look on the bright side at least you know the brakes work 🙂. Cool video as always
When you park them Jimmy maybe putting some Damp-Rid will help with reducing moisture and corrosion. I use it in my boat too.
Love the 310, cameron not so really. 👍
Cameron RULES!
Just as a reference point ... that fuel in the UK woudl have cost $234 Yup, double. We pay £2.45 per litre for 100LL
You're in my neck of the woods, Herlong is on Jax. westside and I'm over at Craig field on Jax. Southside. Have a good flight. Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Silver bullet, awesome!
Have you thought about leading edge TAPE ? Its very dueable and flexable, i used it in Iceland to make a Playboy table. Just a thought,,,
Just use some alcohol to clean the surface,, Stuff is TUFF
AIRFRAMES ON P3 Orions, "76-80" NAS JAX Florida. Its the best i think would work if thats your GiG.Good luck, and i watch your Vids all the time. better than Rebuild .. Good luck
This comes a little late but just in case you haven't considered this.... I learned in Grumman Cheetah's and Tigers, all with castering nose gear so ground control via differential braking. Personally love it, they handle like ballerinas versus say the PA-180 aka the flying dump truck. BUT you learn to apply power SLOWLY on the take off roll. Use LIGHT braking until you get rudder effect then GO! Not always possible but any rubber saved is a good thing.
A quick way to spend an afternoons cash thanks Jimmy for a fun video
As much as I adore the 310 "Silver bullet", u speak fancy fast, u speak Cameron
Herlong is where I took my discovery flight. I absolutely loved flying but money and time was an issue so I never had the chance to get my license. I really wanted to but as the sole provider for my family I couldn’t spare the time. If you are ever back in Jacksonville give me a jingle.
Shout out to sheriff grady polk county sheriff 🙏🏻✌🏻🇺🇸
My buddy and I blew a tire upon landing in NW Massachusetts. It does suck, lol.
you need to take Cameron to Reno and race it jimmy!!! 😃
Bulletproof incoming birds 🐦! You never look up as birds fly over. Heat gun will soften the glue FYI. Did you hear about the new iPhone 14 it’s also a satellite 📡 phone. I think it’s free sat for 2 years check with T-Mobile. Middle of nowhere. Thanks again for your work!
JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!!
Still looks fast with a cast on lol. How about a cool livery on the side of Cameron ? Thanks for posting.
The cost to replace that tire was pretty much the same as the cost for my HD rear tire at HD. Same as a high dollar auto tire but not as much as a semi in some cases.
Silver Bullet
Yes another vid . I was begining to have withdraw . ..cameron is just a beast . I mean what can ya say...also jimmy ...it maybe time to get a pellet gun for those birds lol
silver bullet fuel burn test and challenge fully laden both tip tanks and mains see if you can burn less in a flight?
Jim next time use a blow dryer or a heat gun to remove that tape ! It also works great for taking labels off packages !!! Have fun 😊
TS-305 by chemical consultants is a printers solvent that works really well breaking down adhesives. And environmentally friendly
I have to agree.. it's the best I've ever used as well.
Hey Jimmy get off that brake and kick that vertical stabilizer in bro !
Thread showing through on your tires is a mandated tire change. PM Jimmy!
You might take a look at turbularor tape (dimple) for Cameron.
When removing glues or tapes the best solvent to to use would be WD-40 that would remove and protect the paint better than mineral spirits and if by any chance u have a heat Gun it will make it faster
I prefer the Silver Bullet but, there's the fuel consumption to consider. To me, Cameron is good for commuting while, Silver Bullet is good for travelling.
Was that at Herlong airport? That is close to Cecil Field here in Jax.
You have to use acetone and it will stick and not come lose !!
Must’ve gone to Herlong in Jax!
omg hahaha what is that weed growing under your nose hahaha
I hope North Florida Aviation gave you a nice discount for the free advertising. 😉
What could possibly go wrong haha
reminds me of what my dad always said right after washing the car then finding bird droppings "for some people they sing"
Cool!
My car has a spare in the trunk. Seems like a good idea that planes would also have a spare.
Great video. Was that a $50 tire and $350 labor? I would have just patched the tire....just kidding. I saw a guy on youtube use expansion foam in a tire. Not sure how that worked out. But what could go wrong, right?
Large turbo, or even twin turbo.. And a very noticeable increase in prop pitch.. Just enough to get takeoff speed.. And yeah record speeds are a real probability
Cameron is so fast she melts her tires.
North florida aviation rocks
G,day Jimmy from Sydney Australia.
Small brush and white Enamel paint on that tape removal job?
