    Yes, this is new to me, you always have something new to offer but more importantly something very useful. I like the short tutorials but I do like the longer more involved tutorials as well.

    I am pleased to say I knew this. I have created a layer above the Blend If layer, then, merged down, to get the cut out look. I just never thought about a Smart Object! Doh! Cool! Thanks!

    Yes, this is much better than creating a mask for the sky. Making the layer a smart object is a great refinement. Thanks so much.

    Brilliant tip and one I wish I'd used on a previous image where the sky was totally flat grey and I wanted to put a nice sky in. Can I assume it would work in the same way?

      Jonathan, the short answer is yes. The long answer is you may need to use other sliders not just blue, and layer masks.
      Like in this video from 2: 35 to 5: 15.

      The longer ones will always be around, but sometimes I think of something like this that would take less than two minutes to show, and that's when I will publish a tutorial like this one.

    I'm at work right now, and have VERY limited time for instructional videos, so these shorter ones are valuable to me. In fact, I had one small interruption during THIS one, but at least only one, and I was ALMOST able to watch it all the way through at one time. :)

    Thanks for a great tutorial - it was very helpful for me as I often need to get change skies after photographing a building - the photographs show great building images, but often the sky is lousy. Now I know how to change the sky and keep the building - many thanks for the 90 second tutorial.

    I love your 90 second tips. They are just right for my memory. Learning one thing at a time before it gets lost while I'm trying to learn the next thing on a long video means I truly learn it. I also know exactly where to go to review it, if I need to. Thanks. I've watched almost all and every one builds on my PS knowledge easily so that I don't have to learn from scratch.
