- I can't believe I've ticked this many bundles off amongst the struggle!
We're starting a BRAND NEW attempt at the Stardew Valley One Life Challenge, now updated to 1.6! Thank you to Mei for updating the modpack! Let's see how long we can survive this time!
Here are the initial goals:
- Complete at least one room in the community centre
- Survive the first year
If we ever wake up at Harvey's Clinic the run is over (so if health, hunger or thirst reach 0)

In terms of the visible fish (+trash) mod, even if it doesn't show you a piece of trash, they are still possible to get anywhere you can get trash.
Btw, the issue with the disappearing forage should hopefully be fixed with the next update as I'm going to take out Lunar Disturbances (the probable culprit for the forage) for another mod that will affect moon/weather effects.
The swinging with sword/scythe to harvest bushes for salmonberries/blackberries is a vanilla thing as of 1.6.

I found an iridium node in the mountain lake! It took forever to mine, but worth it for iridium ore on day one!

I feel like Shane gives a lot of food. I know he sends pepper poppers and pizza in mail, but not often. When married to him, he constantly gave me omelets.
Shane can send you food in the mail even when he is not dating you, the three I remember are pizza, pepper poppers and strange bun, he prepares omelets, pepper poppers, and pizza, and also give you drinks on rainy days in the morning after you marry him, and one of his favorite gifts is hot pepper which is very easy to get in the summer and keeps growing, and he also likes eggs, crops like parsnips, and berries.
Good point, I need to just work on friendships in general! The only thing about the gifts is I think in this modpack even liked and loved gifts are treated as neutral! 😭
@@emmalution at least the peppers are easy to have, they keep growing and you can only give two gifts a week, so planting two or three should be enough to help.
I always marry Harvey cause he's my favorite, and he most definitely gives food. Every rainy day he will give you dinner, and he has a chance to give you a complete breakfast in the morning on days he stays inside all day.
For the out of bounds ones. You have to face them, but you'll have to click with your mouse in a different part of the screen. Plus you can dive in the mountain lake, but only in the center. Plus you can fish at the Water fountain for trash.
Actually, the water fountain in town only offers stone, wood or the decorative trash can when fishing. So not a good spot when looking for trash.
Great spot for wood/stone though while you've got your tools upgrading!
I've married Harvey on my most recent save, I'm mobile so not 1.6 yet, and he doesn't give me anything- I recommend Shane. He's amazing and give you food.

I love these videos, I wish I had a computer so I could play this challenge too
32:30 well for one its a gameplay feature, and just lore/character building
and for another its a psychology thing, making it easier and more of a habit to think of helping others, positive reinforcement and all that, you *hope* that eventually people will be in it just for the good feelings and community.
You help the people who aren't along and give them a reason to do good, while also rewarding those who are to minimize feelings of not getting anything out of helping.
TL;DR its basically trying to start/perpetuate a positive feedback loop of helping and doing good
investing in a pond might be a good idea for an easier water source! plus you can get a money source and food source from the fish!

agh I kinda wanna try this challenge as well since I played over 800 hours and have 48/49 achievements, but I feel like I would fail because I can't help myself to walk slow I like to run!
my anxiety would kill me seeing the character walking slow, but I'll definitely give it a shot one day

Wait i just had a thought. There's a fountain up by the community center. Can you get water from that? Cause like, fountains have to be filtered and purified, due to the risk of kids drinking from it by accident. Shouldn't that count as a pure source of water? XD

Have you checked if you can drink from or refill your canteens from kitchen sinks in the town? Was thinking maybe they could be a clean source of water to use since most are filteted irl. Could be worth checking.

You no longer get 1,000 g from the year 2 and on egg hunts. You get a prize ticket. Still nice, though.

Maybe start checking the copper trash can at bus stop? I feel like higher level trashcans give more exp towards the skill
