I've been dying for someone to do a Faces reaction lol. You've kind of got to be in the right frame of mind to really feel Faces but it's such a classic Mac project and so important for him and others tbh
jack5151515 I feel you bro it seems to have gone under the radar on the RUclips scene anyway. It’s easily one of my favourite projects from anyone ever.
I just watched this video and the Faces video and I just have to shout y’all out and appreciate you for appreciating Mac for his lyricism. He really was a gift to hip hop. He did so much more than people give him credit for.
I’m a huge Mac miller fan, and I have to say that was his worst album. Didn’t enjoy it at all, kinda had to force myself to listen it fully just not good imo
Macadelic has bars...stright bars...watching movies with the sound off...straight bars....mac miller.......stright bars....RIP to the goat, the legend.
Hard to believe this was posted a day before he passed. the crazy part is that when you listened to the end of 'so it goes'...you said it sounds like overcoming something....like he 'made it'... When his last tweet was him saying the ending to so it goes is so beautiful, that he asked Jon Brion to play the ascension into heaven, and he nailed it... Aka, this is the sound of Mac letting go of all the earthly pain that plagued him but also catalyzed his amazing music that he gifted us and that lives on forever. To make this even spookier and crazier, look up recordings of his last instagram posts/stories... he said he just wanted to make it to tour, and the final post was 1am the day he died, showing a record playing that last bit of heavenly music on the outro of 'so it goes'....one more thing: the phrase 'so it goes' is something that was used in the Kurt Vonnegut novel 'Slaughterhouse 5' as a transition phrase Everytime someone passed away. Word... Hard to make sense of what level this guy was really on, especially when you go back through his work and find so much foreshadowing....it really seems like he knew. Mac, come back to earth man. We miss you. 💖☯️🌌👨🚀🌊♾
I love to see someone spreading some Mac love and knowledge:) people like us is what is going to keep his legacy alive for ever :) Love you and have a great life ✌🏼 💕
I wasn’t a fan of Mac until after his passing. I wish I didn’t ignore his music for so long because he was truly a genius. I can’t imagine that you two were the only people that, after hearing So It Goes, thought he made it. After Swimming, everyone must’ve thought he had made it past the addiction. Which must have made it that much harder. RIP Mac, the world misses you.
Yall did a great job pulling apart the lyrics on this one. I've listened to this album 5 or 6 times through, and you showed us some things I didn't see. "Kickball" damn
Nice one guys! Its sick to see boys who aint follow Mac listening for the first time and actually getting what its about. Fair play for breaking down the lyrics that much after one listen though, its class watching people who actually GET IT. New subscriber 100%
Even the track list has meaning. It’s basically the steps you go through after something traumatic or it heartbreaking happens. You gotta snap back into reality “Come back to earth” and you process what happened and your feelings are hurt and you’re sad, “Hurt feelings”. Then you think like “What the use?” Like what’s the point of living after this I’m In so much pain. Then you gotta realize everything is and will be okay and be perfect, “perfecto”. So you gotta take care of yourself to feel better “Self Care” and slowly you start to make your way up and feel better. Hopes are rising “Wings”, “Ladders”. After flying so high and climbing the ladder, you realize that some things don’t matter as much as you thought they did. Things hurt but eventually you realize that we live in such a “small world” in space, some problems aren’t that big. So you talk to yourself and remind yourself that you got yourself and you can only rely on yourself for your success and happiness. And based on the lyrics, “Dunno” is a point where the traumatic event, in this case it’s heartbreak, comes back and tempts you to go back right where you started so you’re lost a don’t really know what to do now. Now you have to find some sort of motivation or power to move on “jet fuel”. So you have to reflect on where you’ve come from and what you’ve been through “2009” and know that you’ve learned from everything but it’s time to move on from it and grow and “So it goes” and you go on and grow.
@@Thomas-wk9ep kind of, but since the early days of the civil-right-revolutions music is up to the listeners interpretation. That makes the music special and individual in a different way to every consumer. So I think that’s exactly what music is meant for. Maybe it was a reach but music is what you want it to be.
Yo y'all read his music perfectly . I wish someone else close to him would have notice so they could have saved before u drowned . You guys are dope. Long Live Mac💔
sometimes when you are too close to a situation you are getting blinded by the surroundings. Sometimes looking in from the outside tells you more then you may see or feel when you are close. Listening to his music for the last 4 years he had a high when he got involved with Adriana, but after that it went all the way back into darkness. He gave up, you can see it and hear it in his music very clearly.
That's what makes it so hard to get over his death. You listen to the lyrics in the songs about the struggles he is going through and you find yourself rooting for him and like they said, the music in the last song seemed so hopeful at the end and it made it seem like he made it......then we lost him. So sad
Randomly found this review upon going BACK to Mac’s fuckin tiny desk performance and im really happy i did. Your guys’ reaction to the album is discovering new things on the lyrics i didnt really catch and ive been listening to it on and off this whole last week. The off part of that is listening to Mac’s other albums. This dude is gone way too soon. It breaks my heart the world has to continue without this genius. He was about to explode because of this album.
I keep coming back to this vid for good vibes when I’m feeling down. I love hearing these guys hear him for the first time. Rest In Peace Mac Miller. You are very much missed
16:00 "hes dope bro" Thank You for a honest reaction. Great video. Amazing album, no words can come close to describing the person Mac Miller was and the music he brought and left for us. I love how open you both were about the things he said and the way he chose to deliver it. His music reaches my soul. His passing brings tears to my eyes every time I think about him. Like I knew him so well. RIP Mac Miller. Much love and appreciation for all you were while on earth.
Unreal job of deconstructing the songs!! I’ve listened to the album over 20/30 times and I’ve never picked up on some stuff that you’s caught, class content!
Almost a year after this album came out and after listening to this almost everyday since it came out my top 5 is 1. So it Goes 2. Small Worlds 3. Perfecto 4. 2009 5. Self Care/Hurt Feelings
His Faces mixtape will make you think so much about every line and will make you appreciate how much he’s done, that review video will definitely be over an hr long. Great review and you guys deserve to blow up. Got a new sub.
Such a fire reaction and so real. I'm so glad you guys have found Mac its like finding a diamond in the rough. He was overlooked and one of the dopest of the last 20 years. I've been rocking since his first mixtape and he evolved so much. RIP Mac the Most Dope. Thanks guys for keeping his sound and vibe alive much love!!!
Swimming is an album that is like the combination of The Divine Feminine and Faces. You can hear the similarities between all 3 of these projects from Mac Miller. It's fucking amazing.
You talk about the production at some point....Mac was the executive producer on this album! As well as producing a lot of the songs. He's also an accomplished musician...playing piano, guitar, bass, etc. Truly genius level in my opinion!
I LOVE you guys. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I have cried everyday since his passing. Mac Miller saved my fucking life so many times. I started listening to Mac when I was 15. I’m 22 now. Teenage years are hard, all the nights I locked myself in my room and cried, thinking of killing myself, I ended up putting my headphones in and listening to Mac until I fell asleep. So many times. I owed him so much. When I found out he died it felt as if I lost my best friend. So so strange. Swimming is such a beautiful project and seeing other people with unbiased opinions appreciating it hits so different. Thank y’all for giving him a chance. Much love.
We need more Mac! IMO the way he evolved over the years is more amazing than any other rapper. Please give it a shot. He's not defined by his easier stuff as fun as it was.
I feel like Cudi would have complimented a few tracks on here great.. a lot of the vibes on this album are really Cudi like. You feel the emotion. It’s dope
I never thought about that but yeah might work but the thing is I feel like some of these of tracks are too jazzy for cudi but he would be perfect on self care
It’s actually dope that you’re both new on his music and get to experience all of it from the start and that you actually appreciate and take time to analyze the music and the lyrics ... I’m subscribing forsure.. but Man you guys gotta go through his albums from Macadelic , to WMWTSO , Devine feminine, GO:OD AM , all his mixtapes in between , he’s got a jazz mixtape under his alter ego name Larry lovestein it’s fire... should do one on Macadelic that came out in 2012 I believe on DATPIFF they also got a new version on Apple tho I believe !
Good ass reaction fellas. Props for breaking down the verses. Mac miller wordplay through the project is on point. Best i’ve heard from him rapping wise. I agree a few features would’ve boosted my energy a bit.
You guys didnt miss a beat when discussing this beautiful.and amazing piece.of art from such a under rated and talented artist . Mac Miller.was so special
I've been watching all the reactions to this album that I could find. And I have to say that yours is by far my favorite one. You didn't know anything about Mac Miller, yet caught most of the schemes and bars. On top of that you nailed the whole concept of trying to swim to shore and in the end making it happen. With the redemption, the violin at the end of "So it goes". I like coming back to this video and rewatching it over and over, you guys get it. And the fact that Mac reached some sort of enlightenment at the end, makes me feel better about his passing. So thank YOU and thank Mac Miller. Much Love, VibeVilla!
Thank you for your reaction guys! Greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴! An amazing reaction! I love how you get every message Mac was trying to, convey, I guess.
I was really intrigued by that final take that he kept coping and now he’s gotten through it all, hit it right on the head. After his breakup with Ariana Grande he likely had to reimagine life and this album was probably a method of healing for him. He did an interview with Zane Lowe talking about how he was tired of constantly needing to assure others he was okay after it happened, instead pouring his emotion into this album. Anyways, hell of a review again, love watching y’all man. Can’t wait for 50k, 100k, all that n beyond. Y’all are amazing
So sad to hear about his death... This album was amazing. 26 years old. Man. So sad. RIP MAC.
This album sadly opened my eyes to his music he was beyond talented.
his whole career was amazing, honestly, people don't really like his old shit but he was always true to himself !

I'm so glad y'all liked it! It's truly great. And it's so so sad💔
That would have been beautiful
It’s actually dope that you’re both new on his music and get to experience all of it from the start and that you actually appreciate and take time to analyze the music and the lyrics ... I’m subscribing forsure.. but Man you guys gotta go through his albums from Macadelic , to WMWTSO , Devine feminine, GO:OD AM , all his mixtapes in between , he’s got a jazz mixtape under his alter ego name Larry lovestein it’s fire... should do one on Macadelic that came out in 2012 I believe on DATPIFF they also got a new version on Apple tho I believe !
Bruh y’all breaking this down made me a subscriber straight up. Pinpoint breakdowns truly understanding the bars. Mac goes over a lot of ppls heads
Good ass reaction fellas. Props for breaking down the verses. Mac miller wordplay through the project is on point. Best i’ve heard from him rapping wise. I agree a few features would’ve boosted my energy a bit.

Definitely go back and react/review more Mac! 'Faces', 'The Divine Feminine', 'Watching Movies With The Sound Off' etc etc. Keep it up guys!
Y'all have the best review of this album by far, you really appreciate music and lyricism. Much respect. Rip Young Mac.

Swimming is a Masterpiece Album!

Joke
Agree 100%.
Nice username btw
@@NoxBruh Thank you, you too.
Guys I love you for this reaction. Mac was one of my favourites. Hearing you appreciate his last album melts my heart. Thank you for that.
Same and I agree with pretty much everything u said.
Respect to you two young men for this thoughtful review on a spectacular album, much respect. Thank you guys.
Watching this for the first time. The smile on their faces when Whats The Use comes on is amazing. Love this reaction
The best reaction to an album I've ever seen, and it's Mac's album! Y'all caught everything. Respect, just earned a sub from me. Keep it up y'all 💯
One of my favorite albums of all time. Great review, you guys pointed out a lot of lines and connections that I never caught.
R.I.P. Mac
