    Took my new Teton Pro to the lake this weekend using the majority of your setup, thanks for the great ideas. The pulley system really helped raising the motor when I crossed through shallow weeds, the pwm worked great as well. The big thing I need to work through is my foot steering, my pedals do not move smooth, I need to try lubricating the slides. Also, I have some slack in the cables to allow raising the motor up, but when all the way down, the slack makes me push the pedals pretty close to the end. Lastly your suggestions below about running the cables through the yak are exactly how I did mine as well, takes a few minutes a side.

      @334tacticaloutdoors  Год назад +1

      Yes I took some gear oil on my foot pedals to help it slide better. The best way to do the steering cables is have them tight about half way the track when the motor is down that way when u raise the motor the foot pedals will pull all the way to the rear to allow the motor to raise. And I’m glad my ideas have helped you and you enjoy it as much as I do. If I can help in anyway just let me know. Thanks

      @@334tacticaloutdoors The trolling motor was deffinetly a game changer, the first trip was paddle only, spent more time paddling than fishing. Really enjoyed the second trip with the motor now. I'll adjust my cables, and try oiling the rails, thanks again.

    By performing this change to your TM mount, it looks more permanent than before. Is this correct?

    I see where you ran the cables, but how did you feed them through the tiny holes and get them to come out of the other tiny hole. Seems like it would be difficult.

      Where them small holes I drill are that’s straight into the hull of the kayak there’s no tube in there

    How did you get the coated wire through the kayak to the pedal’s?

    • @334tacticaloutdoors
      @334tacticaloutdoors  Год назад

      Remove the flush mount rod holders and take a clothes hanger or stiff rod and tie some small string to it. Run the clothes hanger from the rear hole at the trolling motor to the rod holder hole. Then do the same thing from the hole by the pedal to the rod holder tie the string together then tape the nylon cable to the string and pull it through.

    I’m curious as to how you got the steering cables fished through the hull. Is there a video with how you did that?

    • @334tacticaloutdoors
      @334tacticaloutdoors  2 года назад +2

      There isn’t a video on how I did that. I removed the flush mount rod holders and used a clothes hanger where I drilled the holes in the rear of the kayak where the cables go into the hull I took the clothes hanger and pulled string to the rod holders. Then from the peddles to the rod holder I did the same thing and used the string to pull my cables through the hull.

      Last question. When you ran the cables for the steering. Do you just drill holes in in those spots that are built in? Is there a tunnel built in to run the cable?
