Oh my goodness, I live in China too and tomorrow I have an interview for a teaching position. Your videos are seriously a life saver, I feel so underqualified considering that this is my first job ever
It looks like you would need a native Chinese teacher to give instructions for this activity due to the complexity of it. From my experience, this activity is more suitable for 5 & 6-year old kids since 3 & 4-year old kids often have difficulty cooperating. That said, every class is different and it may be worth a try if you think the kids can manage to do it.
Well, you could adapt your thinking a bit and consider that the extended activities probably apply to the upper end of '3-6'. The earlier couple of activities are fine for early learners.
Hi Mi, thanks so much for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I'm really glad you have found the channel helpful 😊 Where in the world are you teaching?
I didn't really get what happens further. All of the students are seated in the beginning, the teacher says "fruit salad", and removes one chair so that one student turns up in the middle? Then the students takes a role of teacher, and what the teacher does? Takes the student's place in a circle? And when he/she says "fruit salad", everyone changes places again, and removes one more chair? I am confused about how the game ends.
I've always wondered how you give instructions for a game to esl learners. Because you always have to use new vocabulary / structures to explain a game in english. I wonder how esl learners understand the instructions. I've never had such a fun teacher or such fun activities when I was a student. And when I started teaching long time ago, we didn't have anything like internet. Everything was so difficult. It was so difficult even to obtain a simple picture / flash card to teach vocab. This generation is very lucky in many ways.

Hi Lou, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! It isn't too difficult to get work as a non-native speaker in China, most especially now that covid restrictions have seriously reduced the number of teachers in the country. However, it is much harder to get a legal teaching visa. For a non-native teacher you need to have a teaching degree or a masters degree from a native speaking country in order to qualify. You may be offered positions where you work on a management visa, however I wouldn't recommend taking those. Even it is still a working visa, its not legal to teach and the government has become very strict on catching teachers working on these types of visas. So make sure that if taking a position, you are on a legal teaching visa. I hope that helps! 😊
