My man! Appreciate that a lot brother. If anyone is reading this and hasn't yet seen Division Street's set from VSTV Vol1 - you should go check it out. Incredible work!
What is your equipment that you use in your Productions? Mpc 1000 for rhythm patterns i guess, i saw a moog grandmother and yea would like to know how they are connected between each other to you get these wonderful atmospheres going on, huge fan here 😁
Hey, thank you for listening and your support : ) Oh, that is kind of a tricky one as these songs were made over the span of a few years and use a lot of different equipment. I buy and sell a lot of hardware looking for inspiration - the OB-6 was probably my all time favourite synth - I now have a Hydrasynth which I really like too - though for slightly different reasons. I would like an OB-6 again for sure though. I have had the MPC1000 for a LONG time, I bought that back in 2005 or 2006 or something like that, but now I don't use it much and not really for any creative purposes - more just for playing around etc. To be honest, most of my sounds and ideas get consolidated and finalised on the computer in Ableton and many ideas, even if they started on hardware synths or external equipment will end up being chopped and changed a lot once recorded into the computer - and sometimes I completely replace the parts, or they don't end up in the finished song. They are really used for starting points, ideas and inspiration but absolutely not a requirement for me to get any particular sound or anything like that. At one point I had a very complicated setup with a lot of equipment all controlled with an external MIDI hub and everything wired into the computer (Audio) via a mixer and ADAT interface - but really that was just for a little while and the complexity of the setup, the cables and space required don't really suit me or my little studio space - I find it quite intimidating. So now I have a much more simplified setup - essentially everything runs from Ableton and I only have the Hydrasynth connect with midi and audio in/out. Most sounds and ideas, as I was saying above I put together in Ableton and go from there. For the sound, it is a lot of experimentation and failed demos - always searching for something that sounds meaningful enough to continue working on, that takes a long time and many many failed attempts to be honest. I am no genius or wizard with that - it's just rolling the dice until it lands on the right number : ) hope that is some clarity - have a good day and thank you again : )
