Добавлен 18 ноя 2019
I’m Níall, (It's an Irish name - sounds like Neal / Niel) I make music as NiElsir
I'm from Cork, Ireland, and live in Northern Spain.
When I was about 14 ('04) I discovered music production and computers simultaneously and was immediately hooked.
From that first step of recording my voice into "sound recorder" in late 2004, I started to produce music in Fruity Loops 4 and an MPC1000 - before I knew it I was playing on local radios and Djing. It was absolutely amazing! But, afraid I would resent music if it became my profession I took the different path of studying engineering.
10 years later I looked at my life and noticed that for years I didn't have time to spend with music. So, in 2019 I took my savings and left my job, and started to work on music for as long as I possibly could.
If you have read this and/or listened to my music, I am so grateful. Each listener encourages me to keep making music. You help me move a step closer to my dream.
Thank you so much

NiElsir - Lotusland
Просмотров 3,3 тыс.Год назад
"Lotusland" was created to feel slightly otherwordly. I worked on this song over an 8-month period and I was trying to capture the emotional state of joy and wonder but with a subtle hint that overindulgence in such is also not a good state. The last minute of the song has a shift in feeling, slightly more blissful and dreamy, but with subtle deliberate changes in the sound quality to reflect t...

DSI OB-6 Improvisation (Emotional patch - Ambient / Atmospheric sounds)
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.4 года назад
I've had my Dave Smith Instrument - OB-6 for about 2 months now, and it is a really special instrument. It is unique and different from anything I own or have owned in the past. I love its sound but since I have had it I have been getting increasingly concerned that I don't get the most out of the Synth, that I don't use it to its full potential. I have been/am thinking about parting with it - ...
Moog Subharmonicon with A LOT of Effect Processing (Valhalla, UAD Empirical Labs Distressor, RC-20)
Просмотров 8734 года назад
Spent some time with the Moog Subharmonicon yesterday using it a little differently than I had previously. I eventually connected up the MIDI IN to be triggered by my Sequencer (in this case I just ran a singly note MIDI pattern from Ableton to the Midi In of the Subharmonicon). Until now I was playing it stand alone and using the Polyrhythmic sections extensively so I decided to try something ...

You're exactly what Tycho used to sound like before they went overboard on the randomly inserted clashing drums everywhere! Please never stop <3
Hey, appreciate the kind words - Tycho's early work was a big part of my life during 2012-2013, no doubt it has influenced me. Thank you for listening and the love <3 :) Have a good day
I've been hearing some of your musics, and gosh, you're good, im brazilain, and a friend of mine showed me your channel i just couldn't stop hearing your musics, you may not be that big now, but with your music sense and these pieces of art you make you sure will have a long road ahead, hope one day you become a symbol there, and get even more know to the world, so that your music can get even further and famous, good luck man, hope you get bigger. Obs: this one is by far the one i like the most, you made the perfect vibe here, i adore you for that!
!Brigadão! : ) Thank you so much - I really appreciate what you have said, and thank you for all the kind words. It means a lot :). ☺
What is your equipment that you use in your Productions? Mpc 1000 for rhythm patterns i guess, i saw a moog grandmother and yea would like to know how they are connected between each other to you get these wonderful atmospheres going on, huge fan here 😁
Hey, thank you for listening and your support : ) Oh, that is kind of a tricky one as these songs were made over the span of a few years and use a lot of different equipment. I buy and sell a lot of hardware looking for inspiration - the OB-6 was probably my all time favourite synth - I now have a Hydrasynth which I really like too - though for slightly different reasons. I would like an OB-6 again for sure though. I have had the MPC1000 for a LONG time, I bought that back in 2005 or 2006 or something like that, but now I don't use it much and not really for any creative purposes - more just for playing around etc. To be honest, most of my sounds and ideas get consolidated and finalised on the computer in Ableton and many ideas, even if they started on hardware synths or external equipment will end up being chopped and changed a lot once recorded into the computer - and sometimes I completely replace the parts, or they don't end up in the finished song. They are really used for starting points, ideas and inspiration but absolutely not a requirement for me to get any particular sound or anything like that. At one point I had a very complicated setup with a lot of equipment all controlled with an external MIDI hub and everything wired into the computer (Audio) via a mixer and ADAT interface - but really that was just for a little while and the complexity of the setup, the cables and space required don't really suit me or my little studio space - I find it quite intimidating. So now I have a much more simplified setup - essentially everything runs from Ableton and I only have the Hydrasynth connect with midi and audio in/out. Most sounds and ideas, as I was saying above I put together in Ableton and go from there. For the sound, it is a lot of experimentation and failed demos - always searching for something that sounds meaningful enough to continue working on, that takes a long time and many many failed attempts to be honest. I am no genius or wizard with that - it's just rolling the dice until it lands on the right number : ) hope that is some clarity - have a good day and thank you again : )
Unrelated - is your profile photo from La Planete Sauvage?? Fantastic soundtrack to that ☺
Some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. Thank you for making such a masterpiece.

After getting extremely lucky I came home early from prison this time last year after serving 6 months. I thought about this song every single week and made sure it was the absolute first song I listened to when I came home. It's genuinely amazing to me how beautiful this song has stayed to me over literally hundreds of plays/repeats. I feel blessed to have discovered this beautiful hidden gem. You've truly made art Níall. 🙏
Hey Project! Wow, thank you so much for the kind words - I really appreciate you sharing that story and what this song means to you. It really means a lot to hear that and I am very happy that you like it so much. Cheers dude, all the best to you!
this is too good !!
Thank you : )
I love your music so much it's very unique and has very soothing ethereal tones that I adore. Does your music have any synthwave influences? because it reminds me of synthwave. I really hope you continue making more amazing music!
Hey, thank you for the kind and supportive comment : ) appreciate that greatly. That's a good question actually, I don't listen to very much strict "synthwave" but definitely some songs that fall into that world but I think most of the influences would be more from chillwave music from the last 15 years and general electronic music (I listen to a lot of various styles and genres). I will do my best to keep making and releasing more music : ) thank you again for the great comment. Cheers
Amazing Sounds! 🤩🤩🤗🤗
Thank you - appreciate that : )

Thank you :)
This is fantastic, thanks for not scrapping it! It’s up there with Carbon Based Lifeform’s Mos 6581 as one of my favorite songs of all time. Hope you get the recognition you deserve someday.
Hi there Journ_nourj, thank you very much for saying that. I appreciate your thoughtful comment and encouraging words a lot. I did not know that track by Carbon Based Lifeforms, I just listened to it (yesterday and again today) - it's very nice, honoured to be in the same bracket with it. Thank you again and have a great day. Cheers
Hi from Galicia, Spain!!!!. I have discovered recently your music and I love it, very organic and enjoyable, almost I can touch/see/smell/taste it :-) May I ask you a question?...I like a lot the bass lines in your compositions, for example in Aeon, are they synthesized or is a real bass?. Thank you and I'll be waiting for more compositions!!!
Hola, buenos días desde Burgos : ) Thank you so much for your comment, and kind words. Of course, no problem asking some questions 👍. Good question, Aeon is an example (there are a few like this) which has two basslines - one is from a synthesiser and the other from a bass guitar. Sometimes only the bassline from the synthesiser is playing, and at some points, I use the bass guitar to add additional melodies in the bassline while the synth bass holds a deep and subtle tone. I believe in Aeon, the bass guitar is actually virtual - from samples. I think I used Trillian from Spectrasonics - with a lot of saturation, compressions, and tape emulation on the signal. 👍 Thank you again for the thoughtful comment. Cheers
Beautiful work, i come by almost once a day to listen again
Hey, thank you so much for the kind words and for listening and supporting my music. Really means a lot! Cheers ☺👍
Outstanding. This music brings a zen to my day :)
Brendy!!!! Wow man, thank you for that : ) 😍 appreciate the support dude.
this is amazing, what a wonderfull soundscape you have created, i think you are one of the people that inspired me to start making chillsynth tunes myself, there is a lot to learn, but i feel forever gratefull when i can take inspiration from true masters within this genre. Thanks so much for making awesome tunes and inspiring others to do the same.
Hey Maritime_Synth, thank you for the nice and thoughtful comment - wow dude, it means a lot that you look to my music as inspiration, I don't really see myself as an inspiration to others, as I am always looking to others to inspire myself also, it's nice to hear that my work inspires you though. That means a lot. Just keep making sounds and working on it, it's a slow process that requires a lot of mental investment and time - but it will get easier and the results and the music gets better and better, you learn a little bit at a time and apply that and keep moving forward in that way : ) Cheers dude and thanks again for the nice comment - good luck to you and your music also. Ni
Thank you so much for this track, it's amazing. It creates a very hard to describe, wonderful feeling in me. Wish you all the best
Hey, thanks for listening - nice to hear that it has invoked such a feeling : ) that makes me proud to know that something I created can have that effect. Many thanks for listening again, and the nice comment. Cheers : )

:) Cheers, glad you like it. I have listened to a lot of Tycho's music over the years and really like it so I have no doubt that I am influenced by his music in some way - honoured to be compared to it : ) Thank you
