Me as a 23 year old male working as a Diesel Mechanic in South Texas , it’s exciting to see young people like you thinking for yourself and building the future you want to live. The success that follows is just a direct result of the undeniable hard work that you perform on a daily basis. No it’s not easy at times, but that’s the point. If it were easy everyone would be successful. Surprise yourself with what you’re able to accomplish, stay out of your comfort zone and take risks. You weren’t annoying or spastic in this video, just excited for what is unfolding in your life currently, and that in it of itself is inspiring to young men like me.
Please be careful. Encouraging anyone to try out trucking as a career is a recipe for financial ruin right now. The AB5 law enforced by California will not help much.
@@wanderingfido Yep, and to make matters worse, they won’t let you operate there PERIOD if your truck is older than 2011, and if it is, the only ways to fix that are either swapping your older engine out for one manufactured on or after 2011, or buying a whole new truck with a 2011 or later engine already in it to avoid the headaches that go with engine swaps, and to add even more insult to injury, AB5 aside, diesel prices are absolutely horrible in California right now.

Now that my daughter is grown I really seriously think about getting a CDL and doing OTR. I have physical limitations though and house rabbits still to care for, but when I’m 100% free to, I very well may be a road warrior too. May the powers that be wrap you in protection. I can kind of relate, except I can’t function without just a single cup of coffee because of my ADHD, and yes, I drink coffee despite the fact I’m only in my 20s, and I am aware that caffeine doesn’t work nearly as well as, for example, Adderall, which I actually used to use growing up, and then for unknown reasons it stopped working, so caffeine is basically my plan B.

I do OTR flatbed drive a t680. I live in my truck, single, no days off, literally no days,, save all my income. I'm probably the only driver in the world with a full size deepfreeze inside my truck with two months of food. I also have two refrigerators. I don't see any other truckers who honestly save all of their earnings and prepare all of their meals. #lifegoals
I'm sitting watching the struggle with Freightliner's new stupid design for cabinets. I'm actually vibrating thinking how much I hate my Chicken quesadilla Truck, just for the fact Freightliner screwed the pooch on interior storage.
Nice to see you back here on youtube again, if you are saying that the truck gets cold and takes a long time to warm up in the colder temperatures, have you thought about having a Espar heater installed on your truck that will burn a fraction of the fuel of the engine and can either be used to keep the engine warm or to heat the cab of the truck. They are amazing I have a couple friends who use them in their campers. Nice photo shoot with your truck, can't wait for the next episode
Hey Shelby! Have an idea for your paper work. Get a 12 month bi-fold folder and so you can organize your paperwork by month of run. So if you have to go back and find the paperwork and you at least know the month just go to the month and pull the paperwork for that month.
I don't care how hyper you think you are it's good to see your Ok, it's just great to hear things are happening and to know your happy, don't be shy film anything, we will happily watch the truck dry if your in shot 😂🤣🥰

Sometimes it's just easier to draw the curtains and take a sponge bath in the sleeper. You can convert a storage tote from under the bunk to a shower stall for this purpose. Sometimes a sponge bath is the only option because the truck stop shower is way too gross or you're out of hours too far away from a decent sprinkle.
Shelby .... I'm happy to see Dakota again .... further every trucker hates shopping, don't you worry girl .... you are a tough girl .... I'm forced to stop driving commercially due to 1 lung dying off, causing me to suffer from COPD GOLD IIB2 .... but being 64 I see it now as a early retirement .... but I do miss my European wide trips and my trips to the arctic circle, like Trömsö in Norway Just keep on trucking girl, it makes you happy and made me happy for 41 yrs.

The last new truck that I was in was equipped with the electric Apu with fuel fired bunk heater, that was nice, could go a whole ten hour break without having to charge the 'hotel' batteries, of course I could and did cheat by hooking up jumper cables to the reefer as it needed to run anyways to keep the truck charged 😁😁 Best of luck to you.
