"I'm not a genius. I'm just not afraid to look like an idiot."
Comedy in a nutshell.
Honestly just a great quote on making decisions

@Floyd Clemens are you gonna finish that crossiant?

Ohhhh ROB IS THE BEST!!!
WellBeSerious12 Rob Paulsen is a voice actor. Brizzy also does voices. I’m sure that she is a fan like some people that know who he is and what he’s done.
Yes he is!! ♥️💜
You said a mouthful brizzy
His name is Rob Paulsen
NO YOU ARE
Bruh dude went through stage 3 lung cancer and still doesn't sound like he's EVER skipped a beat. Long live rob 🤟
Yes sir!
Wait he is a cancer survivor I have even more respect for him
It was actually throat cancer, not lung. But that makes the whole thing even more ironic, since he uses his throat for a living! I'm so glad he got through it and is still killing it at his job. 😊
2 Esdras 2: 31 -100
Oh my god I hope he is okay
the impressions weren't 100% accurate but he was very kind in giving them positive feedback.
I think that’s a quirk of the job.
We don’t hear the pitch of our own voices the way others hear them. So they’re constantly living with almost 2 versions of their “character.”
So these voice actors will naturally be more forgiving of voices being in the wrong register, and they’ll pick up on things like dialect and diction much more precisely.
It's how actors help new actors get better. Positive feedback helps them feel like they're doing well, creative critique helps make them better. I actually knocked him and Maurice LaMarche for a spin when I turned my Pinky on. It's no Paulsen by far but he does show true appreciation for it.
I like how his critiques were fair and helpful, pointing out things I never would have thought of, but turned out to be very useful advice.
He seems like a really nice guy.
I think that's the whole point. It's easy to find impersonators that are near or are 100% same like Rob's voice but if he listened to those it would just be plain reaction video. With this selection of videos he was able to give really helpful tips in voice acting to inspiring voice actors.
This man voiced like a third of my childhood.
Same here.
Agreed
He and Cree Summer were and still are in everything

thank god, for once an voice actor who actually corrects them and doesn't pretend that the impressions are perfect.
I was taught in a college class that the worst kind of feedback you can give to someone is: "That's perfect, don't change a thing." It's extremely dangerous to say that. Because then they think they're perfect and then NEVER improve.
I agree, he wants them to be successful. I love that he starts with what the person did good on and then what they could do better
Tom Kenny did that too didn't he?
It looks like he was cringing at the first one
Than you had John Dimaggio who just clowns them lol
I always love his positivity. He is so kind in his commentary
Me too.
Rob Paulsen will always be one of the greats of voice acting
So will Maurice.
Frank Welker, Billy West, Dan Castennela, Maurice Lamarche,Rob Paulsen, and more I can't remember at the moment
Tara Strong, Grey Griffin, Tress MacNeille, Kath Soucie, Cree Summer, Cam Clarke, Michael Bell, Charlie Adler, Peter Cullen, Jim Cummings, Phil LaMarr, James Arnold Taylor, Nolan North, and Dee Bradley Baker.
How could I forget the legends who are no longer with us like Casey Kasem, Joe Alaskey, Christine Cavanaugh, John Stephenson, Chris Latta, Daws Butler, Don Messick, June Foray, and the GOAT himself, Mel Blanc.
If this guy dies there will be no more good shows
@@tbarnes9400 him and all the other people we mentioned in the comments but especially his onscreen lil sis Tress MacNeille and the master of animal noises and leader of the Decepticons Frank Welker.
It took me 13 years to finally get the "We don't do floors, they're beneath us" joke and that moment was just now.
Same here. I always thought it meant that the floor was literally beneath them. I mean, it does, but there's another meaning to it.
I love when kids shows have clever jokes like that
@@CutsiePie_ wait what's the other meaning, I get the first part what's the other meaning?
The fact this guy went through throat cancer and can still do his voices with little effort is amazing!!!
He did

There will never be another Rob Paulsen.

I literally read this comment the moment he said it in the video 😂
YAAAAAAAASSS YAAAAASSS
I love that he is giving actual criticism but not in a rude way, you can tell he wants them to do better as voice actors without being a diva about his characters or giving compliments without cretic.
He's overflowing with positivity.
14:50 Yakko’s “Uhhhhh“... shows up here 😁
@Kenny Wilson That's alot of uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I unironically think if I met Rob Paulsen in person I'd start crying.
I would freak out.
I DID start crying. 😂
I love this man to death. He is so pleasant to talk to and understanding, accommodating, and unafraid to screw up.
I got to meet him at a con once, and I brought one of those old BK Kids’ Club Turtles videos for him to sign, and I ended up getting a small video with him where he was supposed to say “This place [the hotel where the con was] has more twists than a pretzel factory” because the episode I brought was the one where April has a “Prince and the Pauper” moment, and the guys are running through this huge mansion in Manhattan trying to find her. And he flubbed the line, which is not unexpected because it had been 30 years since he had to say it right, but he didn’t cut or get down on himself or anything. He just poked fun at himself for a second, nailed it the second time, and thanked me for coming out. I thanked him right back for being so awesome, and I still have the video.
I took a German diction class in college to help me sing in German. My pronunciation was better than the other students and they asked me where I learned to speak with a German accent so well. Um...Dr. Scratchansniff....,🤷♀️
“Im not afraid of looking like an idiot” noted
It works for him!
He must teach me his ways lol
Rob Paulson is the Bob Ross of dubbing. Lovely.
That is SO true! Two towers of positive energy!
I mean, hes amazing but it's hard for anybody to ever compare to Mel Blanc....

Yes! I can see it now… “Happy little Carls… happy little yakkos!” 😂
One of the more honest and nicer "Hollywood types", gotta love Robert Paulsen.
I think Rob did a good job giving solid honest advice without crushing their spirits. A few previous interviews leaned a tad too much on the sugarcoating side comparatively.
Edit: Oh goodness I had no clue about the cancer... that last few minutes was so touching

he was polite at 1:13 but you can see the expression of his face when he heard him, he was nothing like Pinky and we know it
3:21 That was me all the way back in August 2014! I'm glad Rob liked my take on Pinky and how I also did The Brain, and was clear on what I got right! On a side note, I met Rob at a convention later in the same year, and he liked my Pinky & The Brain impressions then as well!
I'm envious man, I always wanted to do the Brain/ Orsen Wells voice and never had the range, that was pretty awesome!
@@jasonflay8818 I'm glad you liked it!
That was so good!! Your Brain was great!

Wow, he was so gracious with his positive feedback, what a well-spoken and awesome dude!
I love this but it would have been nice to have had any of the channels featured in this actually mentioned in the description or have been notified to spread the word that they were featured in this. That being said I loved that Rob Paulsen finally seen my Yakko and Dr. Scratchansniff impression! at 8:35 Thank you so much Rob!!!
That's awesome bud!
I agree. I was the first Yakko, and I only found this bc I was randomly watching Animaniacs and started watching voice actor stuff.
Definitely they should help out the small channels. It's almost impossible getting viewers these days, so I've stopped posting. Anyway, it made my night stumbling over this, so that's cool. They should do more of these with other voice actors. Neat bit.
They are mentioned now
@@oz_jones yeah it only took almost half a year and our names are still not even mentioned in the description, just the voices with the video links
and now they're gone
Rob Paulsen seems like one of the sweetest, friendliest guys! He always has a really touching story of meeting fans, and his advice was so kind here.
He’s a VA a coach and a producers. He is the best
Voice actors do not nearly get enough credit for what they do. Rob Paulsen's still fantastic on these roles and I hope we in the EU can enjoy the reboot too, soon.
"And that's what this is about: continue to embrace your silliness." Great words of wisdom to live by.
I love Rob, when the Animaniacs reboot was announced I tweeted him and he replied and totally made my day, the only celebrity to respond to me
This man definitely should be immortalized. He's done so many voices it's unreal. Also the Mask and Stanley in the animated series
And Ace Ventura as well I think
The box ghost has a hint of Mark Chang from Fairly Odd Parents as well.
YESS
He does Mark Chang too
Yeah it’s like Mark without the California/surfer dude accent lol
I read this and my brain instantly went
TURNER
It’s definitely the same voice for both just different word choice and slightly less California for Boxy
Imagine if Pinky was in Jimmy Neutron: “Are you gonna finish that croissant? NARF!”
The greatest thing about this is Rob Paulsen is never unkind in his criticism. Always constructive, never discouraging. Such a wonderful man.
Pinky and the Brain was my favorite show as a kid. It was one of those rare gems that was clever and funny in a sea of stupidity called the kids channel. Thank you!
I remember my mom would always enjoy watching it with me when I was a kid. There were a lot of layers to the writing and production so everyone could enjoy it.
Narf
I’m basically a Steven Spielberg fan.
HelloOoOoO nurse!
My favorite so far. Rob is such a supportive person who gives out genuinely great advice. What a guy!!!!
Throat cancer never gave this guy a reason to stop doing voices. Cheers Rob, you're one of the best in the business.
I've literally been WAITING FOREVER for A Rob Paulsen vanity fair video and he DID NOT disappoint
I love Rob Paulsen! He is one of my heroes! He is such a nice and genuine guy who spreads such positivity! I think he is probably about 80% of my childhood, particularly Animaniacs, since it was pretty much the only show that my brother, sister and myself all agreed on and would love watching together!
You guys should get Tara Strong in one of these
That episode would be like 2 hours long, and they'd only get through like 3 years of her career.
Vanity Fair did uploaded already! : )
@@Bluemilk92 bruh
Yesss lol
They already did lol
I like how Pinky seems sophisticated instead of being a total oddball.
Also at 5:08 I thought Yakko was referring to 1993's Bubsy with that chemical inducement hinting, that would describe the voice very well.
@@robotnikcentric64 Hi, that was me. Struggle with Major Depressive Disorder, and have to be on meds. Lots more impression videos on my channel, including Tracy Morgan and Gilbert Gottfried.
@@LAkadian Oh ok, I hope you're doing ok.
@@robotnikcentric64 Thanks. Same to you.
As much as I love Rob, he has one tone to his voice and it's instantly recognizable in every character he does. I say this against comparison of certain actors who had what I've begun to realize is the rare ability to do a character while doing another character and still manage to have them come across as distinct entities (Mel Blanc was notable for this, just to name an obvious example).
He'll be remembered as one of the more prolific and great voice actors, without question, however.
Agreed. You can always tell when it's him
I met him! It was at Michigan Comic-Con! I wanna personally say a huge thanks to Rob for being the most..EXCELLENT PERSON! And being a staple of Nicktoons History, Stay Crazy! NARF!!

Rob Paulson, he is so sweet, best voice actor ever, love him!! ❤❤❤
Rob Paulsen along with Tom Kenny are my two favorite male voice actors
And Frank Welker
Tom Kenny is really nice in person too! He did the spongebob voice for a kid who was crying and scared and the kid immediately stopped crying.

Can't wait for the Animaniacs to make their return ... Yes I am 34, and hell yes I am excited. Love ya Rob and your TED Talk was amazing btw. As a kid, I didn't understand that "goodnight everybody" was to reference each time a sexual innuendo was stated. I like how you can watch the show later in life and catch a lot of the references and jokes clearly.
I have a season of the show, they will never allow this show on t.v. or there'll be so many #tags. Remember the Prince act. Between Yakko and Dot ..."We need Print.... I found Prince..... No Finger Prints.... I don't think so
I'm almost 40 and looking forward to a return. They were my life growing up. That and Freakazoid. And Batman the Animated Series. But I still went back to P&B and Animaniacs the most.

Its amazing some of the jokes that are hidden in kids shows that you just had no frame of reference for back then. Rugrats in particular did it quite often.
What I want to know is how can I watch this show now? I watched it growing up and am now 34yrs old and would love to revist these episodes
And his name is Robert Paulsen. Who made everyone’s childhood.
Had the pleasure of seeing Animaniacs live a couple years ago. Rob snuck up on (34 year old) me and my (13 year old) cousin while we were coming in and *was* pinky out of nowhere.
