As a rider on two wheels often enough, I tend to anticipate 4 wheeled drivers intent using previously observed behavior by them, looking through their rear window at their body language, or using their side mirrors to judge their attention/possible intentions. You can tell a lot about what a driver may predictably do by using these tools in a defensive manner for yourself. Constant checking rear view mirrors, side mirrors, and just general awareness of what's around you, to include looking ahead at other vehiclesand their actions. I've done this from the day I first got my license, but didn't realize this until I partook in a defensively driving course in the military and then in gaining my motorcycle license. Always drive for the other person, which will save your butt many times over!
