Brilliant! Using framing to illuminate each block as an individual picture then tying them all together is a great idea. I was blown away when you made such disparate blocks work together, now I'm inspired and challenged to start quilting the top I've just finished. I think mine looks really boring, but if I can scribe a story into the pattern I might just transform it to make it interesting.

Thanks! It was a lot of fun coming up with different designs for the frames. Good luck with your quilting, and let me know how it turns out!

Thanks! The patience is an illusion - half way through the quilting I was asking myself why I didn't just do a simple all-over design! 😄

Impressed with the process, decisions and the quilting. Great ideas to work from.

I think it looks fantastic! I'm really falling in love with gray as a background. I've made two quilts so far with gray and just love them. Love how you made all these orphan blocks work together. You really did a lovely job.

Thanks! I love using grey - it works with almost any colour, and is less stark looking than a white or black background.

Thanks! I didn't like that block at first, but it fit surprisingly well into the finished quilt.

Thanks! It's a line from a Grace Petrie song - I got it at a concert she did here a while back.

What patience you have quilting that piece of art. Came out stunning! Was that freehand quilting - your own design?? Amazing!! I’m not a quilter, but I enjoy seeing the process. Thank you!

Thanks! Yes, entirely freehand (though I used a ruler for the straight edges on the "picture frames"), and made up as I went along.
