What you said starting at 3:00 about DC fast charging is incorrect. It is not possible to DC fast charge (Level 3) any Toyota plug in hybrid. Maximum charge rate for a RAV4 Prime is 6.6 kWh.
Adding a 240v outlet can cost well over $1000. A high quality outlet should be used, and the cost of wire can be significant if there is a long run from the panel. When I got my Prime, I already had a 240v outlet in the garage from my previous vehicle, a Tesla. I added an EVSE level 2 unit from Amazon for around $300.
In the UK the normal voltage is 240 so level 1 charging on my rav4 takes 5 to 6 hours. Perfect for lower rate night charging. I just set the on board timer fr 2am and by 8am fully charged. A level charger costs around £1000 for installation however Toyota UK were doing a free level 2 charger in a sales deal. The charging time for a level 2 is 2 and half hours. The only thing I find is that the charging computer will start charging two hours prior to my set time on cold nights. I think this is due to conditioning the battery before main charge, am I correct?
Thanks, this is an informative video. Is it safe to charge your Rav4 Prime indoors, or should your charge outdoors. I also saw a video from Josh's cars of Japan. He charged his Rav4 Prime on a Telsa charger with an adapter. Is that a safe practice? Thank you.
On a other subject I'm trying to find out more information on the Toyota Dashcam 2.0 front and rear camera. I have a 2024 Rav4 XLE Hybrid it difficult to find information on that product. Thanks.
My electrician friend charged me $350 including the wire he brought. It took him an hour and a half. So contractors are overpriced. Talk to a few electricians on the phone and get a ball park price.
Currently, DC FAST Charging is only available for the Toyota BZ4X! Sorry for any confusion 😊
Thanks!
Thank you!

He has never owned Toyota PHEV, obviously
Yup, Pretty close to $1,000 for a wired L2 charger in my home. Had quite a run of some very expensive wire. Very convenient tho. Cheers
