Thank you for this tutorial. Couple of follow up questions? 1) Will an adjustable speed Dremel work for drilling out the rivets? 2) After the new mid and lower arm has been put into the shoulder does the should need to be glued or secured in any way to keep the bicep swivel from being loose? Thank you.
Thanks for the tutorial. Any chance of showing how to make a 2 piece mold for torso and waist pieces for casting. I have watched a bunch of video on 2 piece molds and even bought some sulfur free clay to make sure the silicon cures. I still have lots of questions as far as how to position the torso/waist with the clay prior to adding the silicon as well as to place the relief holes to allow air to escape. I would also be interested in what kind of resign is best to make castings. Really like the one you used for the CoCo. Thanks again for everything Matt
Why does hasbro use some brass and some silver on the arm rivets for the same gi joe figures??. I have seen for example lt. falcon figure and 1 had the brass rivets near swivel arm and other had silver rivets both figures were AUTHENTIC. Did different hasbro production plants just use dif colors and sizes rivets??.. I also noticed some have a bigger rivet circular ring and others smaller. Also Even some of the figures shoulders had a smaller circular rivet on 1 arm and the other arm a slightly bigger circular rivet. Any idea why all this goes on??.
They made millions of these. Eventually, some specs slightly changed because of suppliers/ Their focus was function of the joints at the time. Collectors eagle eyes was not a concern back then.
I would love to find more Joe's they were my favorite toys as a kid still would play with them
Awesome tutorial as always. Definitely going to try this out.
Thank you. I will probably use the splitting the upper arm method, since I'm all ready used to splitting modern figures.
I've been looking forward tutorial on this forever. Thank you!!!
it was very helpful... thanks a bunch!!!
Awesome video, This was my next step for some customs. Thank you!!!
Been looking for a video like this for months. Thanks for doing this!
A wood block with a groove to nest the part would help for those not willing to cut/drill their hands
Great job
Nice
Great video, would really like a video on how to cast ARA crotch / waist pieces....

How do you put them back together/ what rivet do you use
Love the channel. What type of paint do you use.
Let’s say I break one down to mold and cast my own. Do you have the tools to make a tutorial about putting rivets in? Nice work!
Ill do a rivet install video soon

Would it be better to use a Dremmel with a small drillbit or a shredder bit to get that upper part removed on the rivet?
Good idea

okay now where is the video where you put them back together?
Oh shit
Love the video but that turned up razor stressed me out. lol
Doing it on an enemy is nearly impossible to separate the joints. There is no seam
