@@pyramidblaster9239 I think you're right. The closest we ever got were the pre-release short films for Halo 3 that were made by the director of District 9.

huge agree, it’s awesome seeing someone who doesn’t have all the assumed knowledge of fps games and halo specifically forming opinions on it n deciding what they like about the genre
My favorite part of Johnson's "That or you could hide behind me" statement is that is the actual strategy for many runs on Legendary solo wise in the upcoming mission.
I swear, V is the Arn Anderson of Woolie VS. Keeps chat in line, always has something cool to teach Woolie, and totally respects his freedom to experiment in the games he plays. I'm always ready for V to pop out a spinebuster on One Guy or Gal. Lol
I cannot state enough how much I appreciate the editing in these comps. They cover the best moments, and sneak in a lot of little gags and jokes to complement it all. Including comments from the original videos for that extra bit of community participation is the cherry on top.
1:24:33 in response to that comment it’s cool that they delve into that and even created a whole character based on them accepting that fact and revolting (the best character and faction imo)
I'm still kinda disappointed that the terminal never explained why the Jackals tried to sterilize the grunts. They had a reason beyond just beef. The Grunts' growing populations forced Jackals to have to move out of some districts, and the stress on them from that caused a lotta eggs to not hatch. So they said "If we can't have kids, you can't have kids." It ain't justified, but it's still more than just "Fuck you."
Shoutout to Sesa 'Refumee, who realised the Prophets' deception before anyone save that one Arbiter in Halo Legends and could have given the Covenant a black eye early... Only to shoot at Thel instead of letting him ask the questions he literally just told him to ask.
They didn't show it in this compilation but during the Sacred Icon scene when the Phantom flies in, there's a part where it's flying backwards for no reason in one clip, then immediately flying straight in the next scene.
Ironic, isn't it? The very title that the Prophets made into a name of shame, and wielded as a tool whenever it convenienced them, is ultimately what lead to their downfall, and the destruction of the Covenant. If he had not had the Arbiter by his side, and the Elites fighting most of that war on the Ark, humanity would've gone extinct. The Rings would have fired, and the Flood would have been left to live on forever and spread indefinitely. (What with being on the Ark, which was outside of the effect zone) Also shoutout to Half-Jaw's development from, "Your life doesn't matter to me" into a proud brother-in-arms to the Arbiter.
Well it's just like what the Arbiter says to Locke but it's about him and the covenant calling Chief, "demon". "...An insult, to be sure. But one with modicum of respect. He was indeed my enemy. But in time, I named him ally, even friend. The events which forged this bond were... complicated."
About High Charity: the ship is 505 km long and 348 km in diameter. The Dreadnought ship is the pyramid-like structure in the middle of High Charity, it is a forerunner ship the Prophets managed to get working and that ship is used as a power source for High Charity (yes, a single forerunner dreadnought can power such a big ship as High Charity). The Dreadnought is about 12 km all around
Wow, that new cutscene actually makes it clear that the Forerunner installation where you meet the Heretics is _actually on Threshold_ AKA that's the ruin of Installation 04. I didn't even realize that's what it was until just now and I've played this game ten times.

Master Chief’s name & ID number are a Bible verse. John, S-117, John 1:1-7. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it. 6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.
Little V was a good choice to guide Woolie through Halo...but dear god, that reaction to the last terminal entry really hammers home how neither him nor Woolie seem to understand that many situations cannot be resolved with "Just Talk."
I love Woolie having a meltdown over “Bible Games” and only realizing it in Halo 2. In Halo, you have John trying to stop the Flood on Halo. At the beginning of Halo 2 you have the Arbiter betrayed by the Prophets who want to go to their next life, and John once again fighting The Flood, and the only way to stop Halo from unleashing the Flood everywhere is to go to the Ark. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN THERE, YOUR MOM WAS THERE FROM DAY ONE!!!!!

The best part of them is how they actually get more scary the more you learn about them both in story and gameplay. Usually the horror monsters get less scary the more you know, but here you learn all this horrible stuff like infected victims are fully conscious but trapped in their own head, the Flood can not only coordinate strategies but also repair ships, and their brain is an ancient eldrich being who can reason with other characters to the point in 3 hrs willing to put aside his own agenda to help Arby and Chief take out Truth since only Chief can stop the rings from firing.
Watching these halo compilations is so weirdly sad for me because the only happy memories I have with my now estranged older brother was playing halo with him, I was so young and I never touched it after or since.
I think you'd find a lot of the Destiny lore interesting, especially like how the Hive have culturally turned violence, betrayal, and genocide into formal acts of communication and even affection.
Now you've reminded me of that lore bit about Alak-Hul, the Darkblade, being so desperate to bang Omnigul, that he led a rebellion against his literal God-King, Oryx.

Tbf for the ending rant about it being a bibble game, I like to think about it in the opposite way, where in the universe of halo the bible was based off of the actual events of the forerunners activating the halo’s, and however sentient life survived, recorded the events and throughout the millennia’s it was warped into the bible that we know now 😅 but ya, the writers definitely got their inspiration from that book 😂

39:15 Video Games are so pure😂❤️🔥
Tbf for the ending rant about it being a bibble game, I like to think about it in the opposite way, where in the universe of halo the bible was based off of the actual events of the forerunners activating the halo’s, and however sentient life survived, recorded the events and throughout the millennia’s it was warped into the bible that we know now 😅 but ya, the writers definitely got their inspiration from that book 😂
Halo 1 pistol, Halo 2 battle rifle, and since the other games are only NOW coming out on PC, that's all I know.
26 years I've been alive. I've been a big-time Halo fanboy since I first played 2 with my cousin all those years ago. And it is at exactly midnight on 4/20/2023 and only at this moment did I learn Halo is Bibble games.
What the absolute FUCK
Addendum: It should be noted that I was in Catholic School from preschool to 6th grade.
I knew all about the Jebus and still never put it together.
