    Lyrics: Countless Skies
    Countless times below me
    Rivers rose and fell
    Ageless stones eroding out
    Across the endless swell
    Songs to pave the seasons
    Wounds to follow birth
    Cries to carry through the night
    Wombs to feed the earth
    Countless skies above me
    Each unlike the next
    Lines of more than moon and sun
    Glimpses of a text
    Countless hands have sought me
    Reaching out in vain
    Permanence observes without
    Compassion or disdain
    Flames to greet the harvest
    Storms to face in awe
    Winds to weave through every wood
    Walls to dull the road
    Purpose lost to frailty
    Craning blades of grass
    Strength and weakness on and on
    All that is will pass
    Countless hands have sought me
    Reaching out in vain
    Permanence observes without
    Compassion or disdain
    Flames to greet the harvest
    Storms to face in awe
    Winds to weave through every wood
    Walls to dull the road
    Countless waves around me
    Strong until the last
    Leaning into dimming dreams
    All that was has passed

    Spoiler alert: Be'lakor has many many more songs just as good as this. Be'lakor is simply unbelievable. I think I have said this before, but Be'lakor doesn't have one bad song. Not only do they not have one bad song, but every single song is as masterful, MORE masterful, or almost as masterful as this song. Also, I personally believe their two albums after this one (Of Breath and Bone, and Vessels) are even better than this album. You guys definitely need to hear a lot more Be'lakor

      True!! I'm listening a lot of genres, not only metal, and from each genre I can give the band or artist I like the most. Which should be correct. But simply, I have essential need to put Be'lakor on the top, as my favorite band-artists, because they have something more. It's about artist, not genre. I'm proudly wearing Be'lakor T'shirt I bought :D

  • @davidviteris

    Be'lakor is the best Melodeath band to come along since DARK TRANQUILLITY. You should do something else by DT, I suggest 'Iridium (Official video)'. Cheers.

    • @celestialcolosseum
      @celestialcolosseum 6 лет назад +9

      I love DT but musically Be'lakor is beyond the limit DT can achieve, imo.

    • @Darkey23
      @Darkey23 6 лет назад +4

      Comparing DT to Be'lakor doesn't seem like a good idea. Granted, both play in the same vague umbrella coined as "Melodic Death Metal", but so do Amon Amarth and Wintersun. None of them sound anything alike.
      I'd rather say Be'lakor is comparable to stuff like Insomnium in a musical and atmospheric sense.

    • @davidviteris
      @davidviteris 6 лет назад +1

      I humbly disagree. Listen to this DT song from '95 ruclips.net/video/w9Zy6nkMOnE/видео.html (one example of many) There's the complementary guitar melodies & riffs, the avalanche of melodic changes and the solid yet inobtrusive drumming. I love Be'lakor and of course they're not exactly the same,, but they owe a lot of their sound to DT and early In Flames. Be'lakor are the best to come out of the genre since those mid-90's days. :)

    • @celestialcolosseum
      @celestialcolosseum 6 лет назад

      just listened it and yeah guitars are very good but the one thing i don't like about DT is the vocals, Be'lakor's vocals are not too harsh and not too soft at the same time, it's like the perfect growling but in that DT song it's much stronger almost like one step below black metal vocals. Anyways if i like all the songs from one album of a band, that means that band is my thing. And Be'lakor's 2 albums did it for me. [Stone's Reach and Of Breath and Bone]

    The unbelievable thing about Be'Lakor is that they don't have a single weak song. Not. even. one. Right before I heard their Vessels album (2016), I thought that they would never write anything as good as Of Breath And Bone, but they did. They don't disappoint. Any one of these songs by them would honesty be worthy of a reaction:
    - An Ember's Arc
    - Roots to Sever
    - The Smoke of Many Fires
    - Abeyance
    - Remnants
    - In Parting
    - Outlive the Hand
    - Sun's Delusion
    - Neither Shape Nor Shadow
    - Tre'aste
    - A Natural Apostasy
    - Sanguinary
    If I had to narrow the list to one song, I'd go with An Ember's Arc, because it's from their latest album, the lyrics are amazing, and it gives me an overflowing energy and emotion

    • @puppetmaster8551
      @puppetmaster8551 3 года назад +1

      It’s not even that tho don’t even have a weak song imo they don’t even have a song that is any less than great. Phenomenal bad with truly godly songwriting abilities.

    Stone' Reach is their best album thus far. Something just magical about how it captures you. The song Smoke of Many Fires is pretty amazing off their latest too. Be sure to check out the video if you get the chance.

    Guys as i've just heard in another vid you're pretty much into Melodic Death Metal. So you should react to "In Mourning - Colossus"
    Progressive Melo Death from Sweden. It's a shame they don't get the recognition they deserve. Highly underrated band. Keep rockin guys!

  • @jordaninard345

    May I recommend two mind-blowing melodic death bands :
    Countless skies - Ethereal (from UK but inspired by this Be'lakor title, very melodic and atmospheric)
    In mourning - Colossus (from Sweden, very progressive)
    These are my "Sons an Winter and Stars" equivalence for those 2 groups all things considered

    I forgot how good this song is. They rhythmic interplay is so outstanding. This is what a band in its prime sounds like.

    The most obvious in a band like this, the most obvious thing in their music, is heart. It's all about heart, even though the lyrics and music can be very philosophical, this is all heart for sure.

    Australia has an awesome metal scene. Check out Okera "like jewels in the sky" or "the black rain" like Be"lakor they sound the same live as per studio recordings, not many bands can pull that off. Also Ne"Obliviscaris check them out. And my personal favorite non aussie band is Agalloch. I also second the comments recommending Draconian, awesome band.

    A couple of fun facts about this song:
    - It's actually Neither Shape nor Shadow, a song from their first album, but reversed. Not that they literally played it backwards but they composed it that way.
    - Its lyrics are from the perspective of nature itself.
    Also their lyrics are so smart. For example, An Ember's Arc from Vessels tells the story of a photon from the moment the sun started to form and was but some stardust to the moment it reaches earth. Fraught also seems to have references to chemistry. The stories they tell in their lyrics are pure genius just like their songs.
