Harbaugh is gone. Matter of NFL contract semantics.
That being said he's making a mistake leaving UM, both personally & professionally.
Sounds like has an excellent family situation in AA with kids in local schools, parents right nextdoor
Professionally he's at the top; it doesn't get any better.
Doesn't pass the common sense test to move lock stock & barrel, @ age 60, to move to LA for a second rate NFL team.

Do you think the staff is going to want to stick around and endure NCAA violations? Mintor and Jay Harbaugh definitely go. The other coaches well at least half a brain will leave too to take better jobs and not get punished for cheating. Plan for Michigan to go back into irrelevancy and enjoy the ashes that Harbaugh is going to leave behind.

I guess the question really is... Was it worth it? Was the national championship worth all that's coming in the near future for Michigan. Losing players, recruits, coaches and even possibly the natty (on paper) worth having it all in 2023. Idk the answer to that. Michigan has a very tough schedule next year and I think they will have a very hard time to bring in the talent. If they fall off and lose 3-4 games this year could they revert back to a mediocrity?? All good things to ask yourselves..

Don't agree, this current AD is 1.0K, which is absolutely to blame! Warde Manuel could have simply met the coaches' expectations of C-Harbaugh, which he very much developed, but this present AD didn't. He does'nt feel NIL & C-Harbaugh does. The minute that C-Harbaugh 'JohnHancock" isn't even dry, whether it is Chargers or whoever NFL-team Pres. Santa Ono should #FIREWARDE ASAP! And for the christ's-sake hire a proper AD., which is the best in college athletics, 'OU Joe Castiglione." Now that the NIL entered the college sports panorama, Warde Manuel has been a day late & penny short; that is, he doesn't believe in it. That is why the newly appointed school president, a sports fan, must do this. Before this AD. sets up Michigan, the brand iconic 'M" falls out of the college sports face of the map and into the abyss! Happy New Year to you sir & always, GOBLUE-NATTYUP🏆!

Does Jadyn Davis even stay here when JH leaves considering we're too incompetent to figure out an intelligent way to pay our players and a lot of guys are going to be jetting the moment their 30 day portal begins? It's not like he has a whole lot of talent to work with at WR when he becomes the starter.
I think the silver lining is that all the Ls we're gonna take next year might finally force the worst administration in the country to care about football. But I doubt it. Recruiting might actually improve but I doubt that also considering we are allergic to getting commitments from top players. Our society is made up of them, it is so common it seems normal, but it's actually a real defect. It seems Jim puts trophies above everything, in my faith we call that idolatry. You should think about that statement a bit before you throw it out there. How much NIL money did UM pony up last year to keep an entire team, you know, before you go "all in" on OSU for doing the same? UM has 5 returners next year and 3 of those were part-timers.

    • @rootedrotor525
      @rootedrotor525 8 месяцев назад

@@chethammer You should really think about your statement before you throw it out there. Michigan kept a lot of seniors and guys that have been with the program a long time via NIL. No doubt. Legal. You better be sure Ohio isn’t making direct payments to these guys from other programs in order to come three. Ya know - cuz that’s cheating which you guys despise. Even other coaches are raising a stink about it. Been paying off recruits for years. $10k just for a recruit to visit? Verified and illegal. Michigan should probably cry to the commissioner and get the rest of the AD’s to bytch about it too and get Day suspended. But we don’t want that - he’s fine right where he is - stuck on 3rd base. I wish he would just leave at this point. I feel like he is hurting us now more than helping. This can't be good for recruiting, and he seems too busy entertaining the NFL to be productive. I am happy for what he has helped build but I think it's time to move forward.

Losing Harbaugh - like the Red Sox losing Ruth - MSU losing Saban - FL losing Meyer. He made very plain - wanted to be wanted. Beats Saban with a 3* roster and goes 15-0. Seems well worth what TAM paid Jimbo to go away over 5 years and $10/3 for each Coordinator to keep the staff together.

Jim Harbaugh bleeds maize and blue more than anything else. Jim will do his very best to not leave Michigan in a lurch. I believe that his staying or going is related to what happens to the elite staff of assistant coaches he has assembled. This can be pretty messy. But if Michigan would hire in-house and the assistants would agree to stay on...then JH would be free to pursue a Super Bowl win. However, if the staff will not stay together if he leaves then I think he will stay at Michigan.

I don’t think he will get any offers based on what he most likely wants on his end.
He wants more control of a team than owners and GMs probably want to give him. He would have been gone already IMO.
I don’t blame Jim either. He’s done this before and knows what it takes to take a team to the Super Bowl. He wants more control of a roster than other coaches have.

I’m tired of us Michigan fans as a whole complaining about Jim wanting to go to the NFL. He has done exactly what we asked him to do, and there’s nothing else for him to accomplish at Michigan. Not only that, we’re bitching that he doesn’t want to stay when the majority of us, myself included, wanted him gone after the 2020 season. You guys can’t have your cake and eat it too. He’s done what we asked, so get over it. If he wants to go to the NFL, let him

i'm not a Michigan fan, but what he did to bring the Wolverines a NC, and really, elevate the image of the Big Ten to being a championship league cannot be underestimated.
I'd be shocked if he came back what with all the investigators who will want questions answered back on that campus-- but he's a perennial winner, and lots of teams looking for a coach seek winners.

Fresno State went 8-4 two years in a row… “YES”.
Also, getting half-points for picking half of the Heisman finalists and half of the big game winners is soft… a coin flip or a bum on the street could get a half of a point there.
